Looks like Telstra finally activated 2+ at my exchange. Woo, and all that.

I'm not sure how far I am from the exchange (although it must be a couple ks at least) but with uncapped old school ADSL I'm currently connected at about 3k and on a really good day get up to 4 and 5.

Now, looking at internode's funky graph:

It doesn't seem like you get much benefit from 2+ unless you can already squeeze 7k+ out of V1 ADSL?

Spook will post some website that tells you how far away you are from exchange.

Yep, you'll probably find you will get better speeds by setting your "line" (speed connection manager if you have access to anything like that on the ISP end) to ADSL1, and also setting your modem to ADSL1/G.DMT fixed as well.

the gain achieved from switching to adsl2+ would be negligable.

your uploads will be better and that is about it...

I don't think Internode offer ADSL 2+ on Telstra exchanges anyway. Telstra charge more for ADSL2+ unlike node =(.

I wish my exchange was a node one, it's at the end of my street.
