So on the phone to Exetel trying to get some information about what they offer (I've already been on the website for those about to mention) and have been on the hold for an hour already. Anyone else know if they actually have a customer support centre? Anyone ever tried Exetel?

I would have but need to get a quote as work seems keen on implementing their service.

s*** can them, if their pre-sales service is this bad imagine what it will be like after-sales when your DSL connection is down and an office is offline.

I concur tickman ... problem is trying to convince my boss otherwise, which is no easy feat in itself.

I've been with Exetel for about 3 years. Rule of thumb is never call them. They have almost zero phone based support, everything is done over the web. Their prices are cheap and the service is reliable (my experience). The are the first ISP I've been with that have regularly offer more services for no additional cost.

I started on a 1.5mbit connection, then went to ADSL2+ inc phone, now back to 8mbit ADSL1 (moved house). I started out paying $65 pm for 24Gbpeak 30Gboff, I then went to ADSL2+ was paying $90pm for 24GBpeak, 32GBoffpeak including line rental. It was then reduced to $85 after they got cheaper wholesale price, and gradually my allowance increase to 36GbPeak, 48GB offpeak at no extra cost. They don't count uploads and you get a static IP.

They also added SMS from web function including 20 free SMS per month and 5c per message after that, also added fax from web function at a couple of cents a fax. I also use their VOIP, 10c national, 22c mobile per min, and have a mobile service with them ($20pm for $140 of calls - vodafone network)

They have short contract terms (longest is 12months). They are very much a no-frills ISP, no advertising, phone support is only 9-5 Mon-Fri. I never recommend them to complete nubs cause they will want to call them at some stage, but if you can configure and troubleshoot your own problems then they are awesome value.

Thanks for the information Mass, it does actually help quite alot and puts a little bit of faith in them.... but ever so slightly. I'll organise to try and sort my query out online.

Try the forums or email them, you'll get a pretty fast response.
