From an article on Kotaku:

http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/6183/custom1220549173390wowlcg0.jpg

Where's it from? A release list from an American 7-11. Seems their 7-11s sell games - Which makes sense given how many of us love the all-mighty Slurpee or Jolt, so what better place than to have some sort of a mythical shop that stocks both!

It's not much, but it's a slow news day :)

Amazon http://www.amazon.com/World-Warcraft-Wrath-Lich-Expansion-Pc has had the 3/11/08 for a while.

eg. this forum post dated July...

Disappointed Casa didn't say old.

The 4th isn't the 3rd though... Although like I said - SLOW NEWS DAY :)

Notice how it says tenative? That means "We invented this date because we thought it sounds plausible". Blizzard haven't even come close to announcing or confirming a date, so anything that any stores have as a date is purely their own conjecture.

They have to have a date put on there by law apparently to sell preorders, even if it's not the real date.

I would be surprised if the game didn't come out in November, on this date though? Who knows.

More importantly, Fallout 3 was on that slip and will hopefully be an infinitely better game.

Sucks that it is going to be released at the end of October because I have exams not long after and sif I'm going to study when I can play that. :(

Who cares? Its just another extension on the game to suck the WOW players deeper and deeper into addiction.

Well, the above date was only 9 days off :)

WoWHead with the first 'official' announcement. Seems to be a tad too well done and given that WoWhead's a fairly reputable site, would be unlikely they're taking the piss out of people (plus it's not April 1st).

The fact that 'official' needs to be used inside quotation marks while talking about this, still makes me rather dubious. I'll wait till we hear it from Blizzard.

It's about as official as it can get until they roll out the press release I guess.

I can already see all the level 70 to 80 people who'll be camping EPL waiting for virgin deathknights to be dumped out into the vicious, open, contested world.

So true. At least the DK starting quests now drop you smack on 58 so you're able to head to Outland to get the clown suit set going.

Given we've got a world event similar to the opening of the Dark Portal due before Wrath hits, my money is on mid October being when 3.0.2 is rolled out. Gives me not much time to get my huntard to 70 :(

ye just got a rogue to 70

reckon its worth getting him some gear in the smallamount of spare time i have? or just chill til wotlk?

Get some badge gear or grind honor and get s2 pvp gear if you're so inclined, otherwise just wait for wotlk. The way the gear scales in wotlk is pretty smooth, its not like the jump from vanilla WoW to TBC, 70 to 71 for example is just the next logical increment on the same curve you followed from 60 to 70.

The downside is if you have a geared character you wont find much to replace your gear for a looooooooooooooong time. I got my mage to 76 and I've replaced nothing except my boots, and even they were more of a sidegrade. It kinda feels like it a cheapens a bit cos I'm getting all these rewards from quests and stuff and none of them are worth using. Theres guilds on the beta who have already cleared 25 man naxx using their sunwell gear.
