Technically applications closed last Friday, job was advertised in the Courier Mail 2 weekends ago. But you could probably squeeze it in for a day or 2 yet (read there weren't many good apps).

St Joseph's Nudgee College
Position Description
Position: ICT Support Officer
Responsible to: Director of Information & Communication Technology


Primary Responsibility:

Provision of primary and secondary ICT support to users of the College’s information and communication technology to agreed service levels.

Additional Specific Accountabilities:


  1. Installation and maintenance of computer hardware and peripheral equipment;
  2. installation, configuration and administration of servers as required;
  3. Installation and configuration of specific software across the network;
  4. Diagnosis and rectification of hardware and software faults;
  5. complete day to day network tasks including setup and maintenance of network user accounts, printer queues, server backup routines and monitoring of e-mail and web usage;
  6. Development and support of device Managed Operating Environments (MOE’s), including OS install and configuration, group policies, anti-virus and imaging;
  7. Installation of networking equipment;
  8. Setup of ICT equipment; and
  9. Effective use of ICT Team work flow systems to achieve day to day tasks.


Selection Criteria

The process of selection will be based on the following criteria.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated:


  1. ability to learn or adapt to new technologies;
  2. experience in implementing ICT platforms and systems as part of a team, in particular developing and supporting a managed desktop environment;
  3. skill and ability in providing ICT support to defined service levels;
  4. ability to prioritise, organise and achieve deadlines for both self and as part of a team;
  5. technical experience and knowledge of ICT systems, hardware and networking in a diverse working environment; and
  6. high level in interpersonal, communication and organisation skills.

No pay details (cos that is possibly something could be negoiated but you can PM for a rough guide of what people are currently on)

We are a Netware/Novell/Groupwise/ZenWorks site, with HP networking. (and loads of HP/Toshiba PCs) ... but we can teach you/send you on a course to get up to speed on the Novell side of things if you an otherwise good candidate.
