Yeah, Doakes was f***ing hilarious. I loved how he was always following Dexter around like a shadow. So many awesome shows starting up next month, gonna be f***ing awesome!!

Anyone who didn't love Doakes has something wrong with them. He was a bad-arse motherf***er!

I didn't like that they killed him off either, but season two of Dexter was taking a lot of elements from the second book, even though it was a different story. One of those elements was Doakes being taken out of action.

Well the fourth book is about to come out, so I'm sure they could keep it going a little longer. I know what you mean about not ruining it, but I think they could go more than three seasons without it coming to that.

this is one of those rare cases where i reckon the tv show was better than the book

especially with the first story, there was a lot more to the story in the show
