pretty much the only thing beta testers can say is:

1. there is a beta
2. i am in the beta

ive been excepeted into it as well, just haven't installed it yet cos im waiting for the copy. can u talk to other beta testers freely then?

I dunno, I still can't shake the feeling that they're hiding something or its not good. Why have such a strict NDA when the game is going to be out in a month anyway? If it was good, I would have thought they'd want as many people as possible drumming up hype for it at this point. Maybe I'm too cynical, or maybe.... I'm right!

No. Give it 6 months to see if they iron out the patchy UI, inaccurate targeting system & other minor annoyances that add up to make it a lot less enjoyable to play than it should be.

The current look/feel of the game is so close to WoW it's not funny - I've shown a few screenies to people and most go "that's WoW, right?". Really does just feel like a Warcaft expansion with new Content etc. Not saying that's a bad thing, as it's probably the best way to get people in - make it seem really familiar, so they can easily get in & start playing.

The stuff I've enjoyed so far have been the Public Quests (think mini-world events that all players in that area can take part in & earn rewards based on how well they do), the Realm vs. Realm stuff (ie. pvp) and the sheer amount of lore & backstory that's sitting there supporting the game.

Best fun i've had since the days of DAOC.

Little things here and there to fix but every step of the game has been enjoyable during beta.

UI is fine imo. it can be edited in game, but you can also create your own ui if you want. the only little niggle i dont like about the ui is some of the windows (such as the quest npc windows) dont match the rest of the ui. they look out of place.

the targetting system can be innacurate but nothing game breaking. i hope the target nearest enemy hotkey is changed so that it only targets flagged enemies.

i have to disagree. it feels like daoc with a warhammer theme and updated features.

i reckon i'd even considering playing a wh40k mmo, and i'm anti mmo but i love wh40k

I'm interested in this because I like the artwork but I'll wait at least a few months after release before trying. Plus the expansion to WoW is on the horizon and there's no way in hell I can do two MMO's at the same time.

Not wrong.. I looked at boba's screenshot and thought it was WoW with some UI mods. Friend of mine in the beta says that it's brilliant though so I'll probably give it a bash when it comes out.

game looks 10x better now and can only get more polished before release

Some crazy changes coming in the next update that make so many things so much better (classes). That's if they make it to 3.4 which i hope we see go up on the servers today ready for them to be opened tomorrow.

I take it you guys are beta testing on the AU servers - how does the population of them compare to the US servers?

.. pretty tricky to answer given it's only beta stages.

the oceanic server had around 1k-1.2k at nights, was the highest pop server last night but they're all down now getting ready for the preview weekend that starts tomorrow I think

i havent even played on the oceanic server yet. last time i looked a it though it had 1500 people on it. it was the highest pop server at the time.

I just can't do an MMO again. The thought just makes my skin crawl.

I'll go back to MMOs when they take out the levelling and the timesinks and the repetition and the equipment > skill parts.

But would they still be MMOs then?!

I signed up and got a closed beta account a long time ago now, but only recently got the files. Since then i've forgotten my login information when attempting to enter the mythic patcher, is there anyway i can get this sent to me again? it doesnt seem to be the same as the other login stuff i use

I wouldn't need to bash it if they made their models hold guns properly!

Think they'll ever fix model clipping in online games? Especially fabrics, like the cloak in the fifth screenie? Eh, not like it's important really, just a bit annoying.

Hey, with the beta client, it asks for account login / pass before patching.

Do you use the beta account, or the master account / war account details?

Im trying both to no avail, but I just want to confirm which one I'm supposed to be using...
