hey guys, just reinstalled my dad's computer with vista. it's user friendly enough that it should be perfect, but the onboard video adapter isn't supported fully under vista. the most i can get is 1280x1024. normally fine, but dad bought himself a widescreen lcd, so i need a card that will do 1440x900.
just looked at the nvidia website, vista support starts at FX5200 range on up. so if anyone's got a old budget card they'd part with for some loose change (or mate's rate's at harvey's :P), i'd appriciate it |

rof. I just threw an old computer in the bin. Had a radeon9700pro in it. Still works unless it met its match in the bin.
I'll check its bin juice status in the morning if you are keen. |

Got a 9600xt sitting here in a box. Missing a capacitor but was used for like 4 years with it missing without a hitch. You probably seen it running once lol

i have an ATI x800 GTO AGP 8 x. 256mb tv out DVI.
Had it for about a year and a half. Hardly used it much. I could let it go for 40 dollars. Considering its got a little bit of power. |

Plus I'll also throw in a 6800GT, which I'm not sure if it works or not either. At least then you should have a pretty good chance of getting a working card.
Take your pick of the cards on offer then, then PM owner. |

yeah, my dad needed his computer back in a hurry, so i'd already told him to go buy that FX5200.
but on the other hand, i'll buy that x800 protius, cuz i need a new video card in my HTPC, and that'll be good for hardware decoding and HDTV resolutions |
