A paranoid thriller about a family on the run from a natural crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity

the happening

anyone seen this movie yet? i watched it just then and thought it was pretty good. Loved all the suicide scenes, but didnt like that the chose Mark W. to play the main character, he puts on this gay nice-guy persona throughout the entire movie which i think ruins it a little bit. Would b better if he was some badass dude killing ppl etc trying to escape the happening :P

what did u guys think about it?

Haven't seen it yet, but I like M. Night Shyamalan. I didn't even know it was out yet, I might check it out this weekend.

Yeah, someone at work told me what is making the people die, and it sounded absolutely ridiculous, I'm not really sure I want to bother with this one.

i think this movie thread should be excluded from spoiler bans.

as there is no way that revealing the ending (which is some nonsense about plants) could ruin this movie anymore than m. night shyamalan already did by making it. the only way you could spoil this movie would be by actually sitting through it.

It was s***, don't bother. The movie just seems to go no where. The climax or lake of is barely there. Story sucked. Best part was seeing a jeep drive straight into a tree and having a person fly out the windscreen.

Really? People are still seeing this guy's crappy movies? Even the ones with Bruce Willis are pretty terrible.

I really want to see this movie but it has been absolutely caned in all reviews I've read. I'll still see it to make up my own mind (I happened to like The Village) but pleased to hear someone say it's not as bad as the critics are making out!

Hmm, I thought it was pretty cool.

Love those wtf is going on movies. The Mist was kind of similar.

His wife was a weird one though...

Though all the characters were strange, and I didn't quite get the fascination with people's looks.

Liked the way it ended without spelling too much out.

Didn't see the lady in the swimming pool movie though (ads looked crap), so perhaps I didn't know this movie was meant to be crap?
