I did a format re-install about a week ago. Everything is sweet and running fine but after windows loads some of the systray stuff doesn't load for about 2 minutes. Windows will start and then just do nothing, no cpu use nothing, then 2 minutes later finally the network connection and wireless card program will start.
Any ideas? |

Internal HDD, partitioned in two parts. c: for windows and programs, d: for storage of standard files etc.
Network - built in motherboard LAN i have disabled 1394 connection whatever that is. says connected but it doesnt do anything wireless gigabyte network card is what i use to connect to the home wireless dsl modem. uses the gigabyte software to connect. |

could be something dumb like the wireless card software trying to update from the internet before starting, and taking that long to timeout
try plugging into your network via the lan card temporarily so you get internet access right away, and see if the timeout still occurs |

Go-Start-Run-MSCONFIG
Click on the services TAB, check hide all microsoft services then disable everything that is left. Reboot and see if problem goes away, if it does then the problem is in a non-microsoft service/software you are running. If it is still slow to boot, run a full AV and S&D scan in safe mode and then run a scan on your HDD. Download the disk checking util from your harddrive manufacturer and run that over the disk to check for hardware failure. If that is okay, test your RAM, easiest way is to wack in some different RAM and try the system. If still slow, check the mobo bios, flash to latest if available. Failing that, low level format on the disks and repartition, reinstall. |

Mine does the same thing and it's really annoying but I'm pretty sure it's Vmware and it's vNIC's.
Doesn't matter at the moment cause my box won't even turn on hahaha, oh... not happy. |

I had a similar thing. It was the camera and/or usb service doing it.
