mal is great
clearly nsw didn't change their game at all they want to kick it to our fullback everytime? so we run with 2 fullbacks they want to rush up in defence every time? run the second man play a stack of times and have them second guessing and as you can see our awesome back line is firing on all cylinders now that we have 2 competant ball players feeding the ball out to them, it's like thurston wasn't even on the park in the first game. now he's all over it obviously it ain't over till it's over, but bellamy would want to come up with something pretty special last edited by paveway at 20:58:40 11/Jun/08 |

Man I still think they need more mongrel. Like when you score a try, throw the ball at the head of the player who tried to tackle you. give a few shirt punches. GEE THE BOYS UP.

I'm far from a Tate lover but he stepped up tonight. Good on him.
And Willy "I'll just knee him in the head" Mason*, I hope his footy career goes arse up like his rape victims. *Refering to Hannent (sp?) try. last edited by mission at 22:22:15 11/Jun/08 |

doob i'm normally all for watching a good game but when it comes to nsw i can't say i ever feel sorry for them when they get smashed like that, especially after their mediocre performance in game one that they thought would be enough to try in game two last edited by paveway at 22:36:33 11/Jun/08 |

just watch the replay of the first 16 points and tell me they actually scored any of them legit and then you can call it a good win. Both tries were from forward passes from inglis. MILES forward, not even close to line ball. there was even a line on the field that showed him throw the pass from behind the line and the winger receive it 1m in front of it.
2 forward passes and at least one knock on before the penalyy goal. shall we go on. the strip on mason no penalty, strip in front of qld goal, penalty. totally ruined the battle, if it had been fair i think qld would have still won, but we will never know. if archer is the best the NRL can muster to ref, they really need to shut the game down and go recruiting. I know its most likely set up for a decider, due NRL getting smashed by AFL and union in the ratings, but atleast make it look legit. ahaha even gus and rabs said something about the refs calls on more then 1 occasion, thats a sign it was too obvious, as they get fined for s*** like that. |

The origin team that played on home turf, won the game! What a twist! :)

haha I just watched the match on replay, I unfortunately knew the result before watching, but man NSW were soft :(
Have to say well done QLD, but watch out game 3, NSW will be back!! All the NSW press are blaming Wallace, f*** man he is one bloke in a team and he needs his forwards to go forward!! Mason was a flop as usual... basically every QLD player was awesome, whilst NSW sucked :( |

All of our players put in a really solid effort. Can't honestly believe people are pinning the win down to "bad reffing" and saying it wasn't a legit game. If you watched the game properly you'd see that QLD worked their asses off last night, and it really paid off

I'm far from a Tate lover but he stepped up tonight. Good on him. I would like to draw everyone's attention to the last origin thread where I said that Tate played well, and that he should still be in the team... and everyone told me that I was stupid. You can all thank me for us winning. |

Now, if only NSW would step up at the same time and we might get a good third game match.
Any game sucks when one side dominates the other, the best games with the most spectacular stuff are the games were both sides are at least good and roughly similar in everything that makes one side win. |

Reffing was on balance probbaly unfair to NSW but that doesn't excuse a totally f***ing soft performance from the Blues. I was like after it reached 12-nil they gave up and started thinking about Game III. They didn't look like they gave a s*** about going down a million zip.
They were so poor it makes it hard to tell just how well QLD played! I can look like a SUPERSTAR out-stepping my four year old but it doesn't mean that I am going to be called up to 1st grade anytime in the next ever. Thumbs down all around, I didn't buy beer and set up my projector to watch a chronically uneven match, someone in NSW needs a huge backpunch. This is supposed to be the best that Rugby League can deliver?! At least Roy and HG were amusing. |

due NRL getting smashed by AFL and union in the ratings roffffffffffffff. http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=448310 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Australian_football_code_crowds crowd numbers for 05, 06, 07 and 08 at bottom. as u can see afl dominates, and s14 (union) has a better average attendance then nrl. basically NRL is slowly dieing, expect more mergers rather then expansion. they cant even keep the afl out of western sydney |

You said ratings bruz, check the ratings for AFL and Union then come back to me.
I don't deny the AFL smashes everyone in crowds. However RATINGS wise NRL smashes Union and AFL in NSW and QLD and nationally on foxtel. AFL is clearly the dominator nationally. However Union is going s***e mate, it is going so good in WA the Force can't even afford to pay contracts because sponsors are dropping out. last edited by ctd at 23:09:58 12/Jun/08 |

1st link is about ratings mate, learn to read. maybe you can come up with some of these fantasy ratings that you talk about.
also these are national figures, and with the AFL now launching a new Sydney, Gold Coast, they will only go up. Reason they can do it, is not only crowd attendance, TV rights being nearly $200mil more then NRL, but also club memberships in the AFL dominate NRL clubs by 5:1 last edited by Anono at 08:13:53 13/Jun/08 |

From your first link bruz. Look at the AFL figures of the rounds going into sydney and brisbane, they are lucky to get over 100k (games without sydney or brisbane get 10000-20000~) and thats for lions and swans games. Of course AFL dominates nationally, I never said it didn't. Union is lucky if anyone even knows about the game in the first place.
This was the big weekend in brisbane. These games were on at the exact same time. Collingwood and the cowboys are the biggest drawcards in both codes. Just one example from your link. Brisbane lions v collingwood – 96,000 Brisbane Broncos v cowboys – 327,000 The AFL tried to make foxsports change a Titans game on the coast to sunday because they knew they were going to get dominated in crowd figures and ratings because it was some melbourne afl club. This is supposed to be the new AFL area as well right. link Heres the part where Western Force have got top notch sponsors helping the club along. link |

I dunno why people were blaming Wallace, I thought Buderis and Bird were the worst for NSW. Bird forgot how to pass and almost all the best NSW attack came from the centres last match for NSW. Buderis looked old and slow and alot of his passes from dummy half hit the dirt before reaching anyone and on more than one occasion I watched him pick the ball up on the 5th tackle then have to change his grip to pass to Wallace for a kick, slowed down the play by 3 seconds or so, enough time for the QLDers to put pressure on the kick.
