Topic: Need to buy computer stuff

After our AGM yesterday (lols, myself the wife and our accountant) I have to spend a few grand on computer stuff for work before June 30. Buying it now rather than waiting is good sense for tax reasons. Each item needs to be less than 1k in value, and needs to have an obvious place in a software development environment (so no $800 surround sound kits).

What would you get? I'm looking into portable storage for backups and software licensing at the moment, maybe a nice 2nd screen for my workstaion in the office.

Umart sells them for $899. Grab 5 750gb HDD for $140 each and you got a nice NAS.

I 1000% recommend if you're gonna start a business then do it in a field you have interest in. Being able to legitimately buy shiny nice new computer toys as a 100% write-off from gross and claim back the GST is awesome. Can basically think of it as about half price compared to buying it out of your regular take-home pay!

I imagine it would be less cool if I was buying cleaning equipment and as a side benefit got a really nice clean s***ter at home.

I wouldn't mind a solid gold toilet, heavily discounted due to tax perks off course.

Maybe I should start up a crapper business.
