So i have a new computer and i have a wireless bridge that is all set up and rolling along fine.

however, i can't remember what port it is on, 10.1.1.1 is the router, and i think i set this one to 10.1.1.100? but im not sure...

how do i scan my ports to find where this thing is?

when you say port, do you mean IP address?
Check the lan status page of your router a=for connected devices. It'll tell you what IP the bridge has.

I'm assuming you want to find out your computer's IP address. If that's the case, go to the command prompt and type 'ipconfig' without the quotes. It'll be listed in there next to IPv4 Address.

i know my ip address, i know the routers ip address, but i have another router that i am using as a wireless bridge, and i don't know _that_ ip address.

i checked my routers status page, and found 10.1.1.11 is being used, but when i punch that into the browser it doesn't come up with the bridges config settings.

i am using dd-wrt firmware.

Could try pinging your local broadcast address, 10.1.1.255 if you are using a 255.255.255.0 subnet mask.
If the router responds it'll show up in your arp table.
So, ping 10.1.1.255, then arp -a.
Could also download angry ip scanner, or nmap for that matter.

Or you could just not forget what IPs you set things to, that really helps.

use this tool, http://www.gfi.com/lannetscan/ install it and go to the scan options and set a scan for 10.10.10.1 to 10.10.10.254, it will pick up the devices within that subnet.

angry ip scanner

nmap -sP -v 10.1.1.0/24

or, for webpage test (in case ping is blocked for some reason):

nmap -sS -p 80 -v 10.1.1.0/24

Yep, command line, but you'll need nmap from http://nmap.org/download.html

There's a GUI too these days if you prefer that sort of thing, the installer handles everything. The command line zip requires WinPCap to be installed first: http://www.winpcap.org/install/default.htm

nmap did it! 10.1.1.254? whos idea was that!?

If you went to broadbandchoice.com then to the hardware list and found you modem. It would show you the ip you would have to type in browser to see the info that you had required.
