Taken from :here: LONDON — Canada is among the more peaceful countries in the world, but still a ways from the top, according to the Global Peace Index released Tuesday by Britain's Economist Intelligence Unit. This year, Iceland was selected the most peaceful place, beating last year's winner Norway, which came in third. Denmark was No. 2. ^ Haha shocking http://images.theglobeandmail.com/archives/RTGAM/images/20080520/wpeace0520/_done_0520peace_364big.jpg More than 4,000 activists with torches form a peace symbol on Heroes' Square in central Budapest during a weekend rally. Iceland is also the most developed country. They have a near 100% literacy. Definitely have to check that place out one day.

i think you'll find most developed countries have a literacy rate of 100% or very close to it.
i don't think welfare states are particularly great either. but whatever floats your boat. |
