well i picked this up today, mainly for the boss as shes getting into exercise and i must say i am pretty impressed.
it's the usual Nintendo quirky combo of fun and entertainment whilst claiming to help you exercise. and after watching some of the activities i can see that it would actually contribute to your daily exercise regime, not replace it, but certainly enough to interest the couch potatoes into getting into it just for the challenge aspect.
i would recommend it for the party challenge aspect alone.
of course i had to also acquire Mario Kart so i'll be reviewing that other thread once i get the hang of it.

so go get the Wii Fit and have some fun!!!

u could get as good of a work out as this asian seems to, by the fluttering of his shirt at the end, after the strenuous snow boarding work out

well worth it spook
it's particularly good in that it records your data and progress and you can set yourself targets for weight loss and it will plot all your activities for you plus you can add any "outside" exercise that will count to your data

very very good

Shano, what sort of games does it come packed with?

"games"
Downhill skiing, ski jump, head the soccer ball, ball puzzle thing, tightrope walking + more ... you only start with 4 activities in each area : Aerobic (yet to be convinced), yoga (meh chick thing, and to be honest the few I tried I found rather easy), strength (yet to be convinced tho I no doubt that doing them will have an effect for anyone not currently gymming it up) and balance games (impressive)

You unlock more activites by earning fit "dollars" .. basically spend time doing stuff. I think better results earn them quicker (but maybe not).
The balance board is actually very well made, heavy. Seems both sensitive and accurate.

It has a built in graphing thing with goals, and when you set your goals it gives you (conservative) advice eg. If you say you want to lose 5kg in a week, it'll tell you you should rethink that. Seems to recommend a max of .7kg a week for males at least.

billy....what Obes said....
has lots of unlocks as you work through the areas.....
you being a fitness dude it's not going to replace what you do as i said in the op....and may not be what you like because of this
it's in no way a replacement for genuine exercise...
as per Obes.....basic categories are aerobic, yoga, balance and muscle.
each one starts with some basic combos and as you work your way through it unlocks further levels.
for real fitness people i honestly think they will consider it s***...but you shouldn't expect it to be a substitute for real exercise....use at as intended as a really fun addition to your other routines and a family and friends challenge game.....like most Wii party style games
but for the oldies like me and the general non exercise dedicated community it will be fun.
and that i believe is a good step forward in at least giving some people a basic level of exercise or at least incentive to start...
i'm very happy so far so take it in context and enjoy...

For $0 you can improve your diet and you will get amazing results. I think wii fit would be suitable for morbidly obese people of people recovering from injuries.

nitro ... its a game ... with a physical element

And a fairly cool controller (if they make more games for it .. ie. surfing, skating, snow sports)
