After Kolkata posted a massive total last night Chennai did even better tonight. 240 thanks in no small part to a 114 off 54 balls by Michael Hussey. Not only is that a score big enough to win some ODIs, but it was done against the likes of Lee, Sreesanth, Hopes and Pathan. The massive hitting and scores in the IPL would make me feel sorry for the bowlers if they weren't being paid obscene amounts of money.

P.S. In some cases they could have been a bit more creative with the names... Kings vs Super Kings?

These games are awesome to say the least. The amount of sixes being hit these days... Hussey made it look so easy.

The scores come up on cric-info/baggygreen. Looks like Hopes gave it a massive crack in the run chase last night but 240 was just too much.

I tried to watch the first one and lost interest.

The grounds are small to start with and they have moved the boundary in so it isn't a surprise there are more 6s being hit.

The filler players are really crap too. Fielding and throwing by the no-name fielders in the first game was horrible.

To summarize, I am not a fan. I won't being staying up to watch them anymore, nor will I be bothering to record them on the DVR.

The 2 minute highlights of a game featured in the news will be enough for me.
