This guy has insane control!

I got my G25 back when DiRT came out (an Col was still alive) an still to this day.... cannot recommend the awesomeness of this controller if your a fan of race games, be they arcady or sim like

I can't wait to have fun (an prolly lots of frustration) with this game when it comes out

^^ try hitting the "no preview" link at the top of the edit page.

I got myself a steering wheel a while back for the PC but if it did work on my 360 I think I'd still suck at forza. I can't play racing games to save my life.

f*** that looks like a lot of fun with a g25. Already have Gran Turismo 5: PL just need the g25. Harvey Norman was selling them at some laugh-o price, Umart has them for 300 bucks. Know of anywhere cheaper?

Did that, no luck, prolly got a bad cookie or something

$300 @ umart is pretty decent. I paid more than that for mine even at staff price :(
I can honestly say tho, if you enjoy race games, they are worth the investment (an your arms get a serious workout in some games)

jesus that looks awesome.

Might have to get a ps3 just for gt5 - it's not a full game though is it?

Well prologue isn't no.

Also gonna buy a PS3 for this game + blue ray capabilities. Got my G25 and it has done me well for the sims I play on the PC (RF, LFS, NR03). And f*** me does that look like a lot of fun.

The problem is having somewhere to put it. Ive got the wheel that was released with GT4 and while it was awesome, I never got around to getting a cockpit or something for it, which would be heaps better.

the wheel is awesome, it just doesn't have the gear shift knob. guess that's why you're paying 100 more

why do you need the gear shift knob? the xbox wheel has the flappy padles on the steering wheel.

i think at the time of release you could get forza and the wheel for $200 (thats how i got it)

the guy can heel and toe, wow i've never seen that before

in all seriousness though, cool setup - do the aussie delivered versions have the shifter on the left?

Gear stick can be placed left or right. To be honest, I don't know why he doesn't use the paddles behind the steering wheel itself instead of taking his hand off the wheel to change gears. That said, it is a bit of an effort to change gears using the paddles when your crossed up making a hard turn.

omg I think I just wet myself. I need that rig.

elih - the shifter is separate to the wheel body

i read a review on the xbox wheel and it said the base of it isnt flat so you can sit it on your lap but that doesn't quite work and because its not flat even on a table it's not all that stable. I don't care much about the gear knob like someone else said, I use the paddle things to shift on my logitech wheel on the pc but I was more worried about the stability of the thing.

Can't vouch for the Xbox wheel, though I can 150% vouch for the G25 for stabilty. I've moved myself away from desk more times than you would imagine in my chair when using the pedals. Steering clamps are rock solid as well.
Foot pedal base has a carpet foot to assist in grip if needs be

I don't understand why you shouldn;t be able to use it on an Xbox as well as the PS3. That's just stupidly unnecessary segregation if you ask me. That said, I'm sure there are 3rd party convertors available out there.

Cause the guy is obviously into Simulation, and the 135i has a regular H-pattern? Also, H-pattern > flappy paddles.

yeah I don't get why one bit of hardware will work on one thing but not with another if it's a USB device. I mean USB flash drives work in pc's, xbox360 and ps2 so why don't steering wheels?

To be honest I haven't tried my wheel on the 360, when I tried it on my ps2 years ago the wheel just started going crazy and spinning really fast from side to side & juddering about like it just took an overdose of crack so I just assumed it wouldn't work on the 360. Maybe I'll go try it. Mine isn't a fancy wheel though it's just one of those old momo things.

Orbitor, yeah, I do actully understand it - like I sorta said, sharp corner + gears on paddles = crash
Don't know if you knew this (ignore if you do) - The G25 has 6 gears shift (+ reverse) and an option to just "up / down" on the gear stick
