I got a call from these guys on my mobile the other day... offering me free bets on some sports website (like that website said..)..

I just hope they haven't secretely charged me for that call.. i guess i will find out next bill.

i think this was the number that rang my dads phone on saturday. i answered and he asked for someone called nick. i said he had the wrong number and i hung up. about 10 seconds later he tried ringing again but i didnt bother answering. no more calls since then.

Sometimes I ring someone's old number and get some random person who has been since given that number, and they're like "wtf.." I'm probably on that f***ing website....

I don't answer my phone ever unless I'm expecting a call since my phone is usually too far away from me anyway to reach in time. I also don't ring back numbers who aren't in my ph book.

What if they called you 10 times and kept hanging up on you? And the last call they made you heard people in the background?

There was(is?) a few scams where people got hit up for Hundreds of $$$'s because they called mack 'missed' calls. The number displayed is one of the phone deals where it's $$$ per min / sec and these people were stupid enough to rack up talk time trying to figure out who was on the other line. All the while getting charged.

Gimpy, Call up Telstra (or your service provider) and they can block that number from calling you.

its not that easy, you have to jump through all kinds of hoops to block a number like that.

This s*** happens with email addresses all the time, even on hardcore f***ing crazy email addresses like bill345@blah.com - we regularly get support emails from users that are like "why are you emailing me this crap" and we check and its an ausgamers or gamearena account from 4 years ago that someone completely different had.
