doesn't look too funny so I haven't read it, but I hope this will cause a stir

What the Boys at the BLF wanted Kevin to say

AUSTRALIAN APOLOGY TO THE ABORIGINAL POPULATION

We apologise for giving you doctors and free medical care, which allows you to survive and multiply so that you can demand apologies.

We apologise for helping you to read and teaching you the English language and thus we opened up to you the entire European civilisation, thought and enterprise.

We feel that we must apologise for building hundreds of homes for you, which you have vandalised and destroyed.

We apologise for giving you law and order which has helped prevent you from slaughtering one another and using the unfortunate for food purposes.

We apologise for developing large farms and properties, which today feed you people, where before, you had the benefits of living off the land and starving during droughts.

We apologise for providing you with warm clothing made of fabric to replace that animal skins you used before.

We apologise for building roads and railway tracks between cities and building cars so that you no longer have to walk over harsh terrain.

We apologise for paying off your vehicle when you fail to pay the instalments

We apologise for giving you free travel anywhere, whenever.

We apologise for giving each and every member of your family $100.00 and free travel to attend an aboriginal funeral.

We apologise for not charging you rent on any lands when white people have to pay.

We apologise for giving you interest free loans.

We apologise for developing oil wells and minerals, including gold and diamonds which you never used and had no idea of their value.

We apologise for developing Ayers rock and Kakadu, and handing them over to you so that you get all the money.

We apologise for allowing taxpayers money paid towards daughters' wedding ($8,000.00 each daughter)

We apologise for giving you $1.7 billion per year for your 250,000 people, which is $48,000.00 per aboriginal man, woman and child.

We apologise for working hard to pay taxes that finance your welfare, medical care, education, etc to the tune of $1.2 billion each year.

We apologise for you having to approach the aboriginal affairs department to verify the above figures. For the trouble you will have identifying the "uncle toms" in your own community who are getting richer and leaving some of you living in squalor and poverty.

We do apologise. We really do.

We humbly beg your forgiveness for all the above sins.

We are only too happy to take back all the above and return you to the paradise of the "outback", whenever you are ready.

That all sounds about right to me. I often wondered how much we give per aboriginal person per year.

Hell, why dont we just pay it directly to them as a wage and see how they go. Except it would be gone in the first couple of months on grog.

They got cliffs? LUXURY.

Why back in the crusades, we used to disembowel people and then fling them out of catapults.

Or the barbarian hordes would steal or destroy all of a village's food and let them starve to death.

And don't get me started on what the arabs and isrealites did to each other.

But please don't let me interrupt your hysteria.

Stolen Generation... more like the saved generation. 75% of them would probably be dead if it wasn't for govt intervention.

No, but I'm fairly sure you mentioned that our ancestors have nothing to do with us and that if your father commits a murder, you shouldn't go to the jail by right of kin.

Oh wait, no you didn't.

By the way, half of my family is from Sicily, who had very deep roots there ... I demand an apology for every single time our home island was attacked and taken over and stolen from us.

While you're at it, I also demand an apology for the mistreatment of my Scottish and Irish ancestors ... and my English ancestors were pretty hard done by at times as well (before they conquered the world and became the only race that it's ok to be racist against).

And you owe me $100,000 for the mental anguish I've suffered for said crimes, knowing what my family went through has been the hardest part of waking up each day.

why should the OP be sorry for posting it. its what alot and i mean alot of ppl are thinking.

the only thing that will come of tomorrow is aboriginal activists will go to court and take more money from hard working australians.

The only thing im sorry for is that this country was classified as "terra nullius". oh how much better a country this would be had they just fought for this land when they landed.

kamma: the aboriginal population is higher maybe around 500,000. i think the spending is also higher though. i've read in the paper that the federal spending is close to $3.5 billion but i have no idea how they calculated it.

But National Indigenous Council member Wesley Aird said much of the $3.5 billion committed to Aborigines in the budget will be wasted because ‘Indigenous people still want to go to Indigenous organisations’.

It's just such a massive waste of funds. Maybe if they'd stop giving away so much money they'd put the petrol away and get a job.

FYI, this is what hes actually going to say tomorrow...

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's apology motion has been tabled in Parliament:

Today we honour the Indigenous peoples of this land, the oldest continuing cultures in human history.

We reflect on their past mistreatment.

We reflect in particular on the mistreatment of those who were Stolen Generations – this blemished chapter in our nation’s history.

The time has now come for the nation to turn a new page in Australia’s history by righting the wrongs of the past and so moving forward with confidence to the future.

We apologise for the laws and policies of successive Parliaments and governments that have inflicted profound grief, suffering and loss on these our fellow Australians.

We apologise especially for the removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, their communities and their country.

For the pain, suffering and hurt of these Stolen Generations, their descendants and for their families left behind, we say sorry.

To the mothers and fathers, the brothers and sisters, for the breaking up of families and communities, we say sorry.

And for the indignity and degradation thus inflicted on a proud people and a proud culture, we say sorry.

We the Parliament of Australia respectfully request that this apology be received in the spirit in which it is offered as part of the healing of the nation.

For the future we take heart; resolving that this new page in the history of our great continent can now be written.

We today take this first step by acknowledging the past and laying claim to a future that embraces all Australian.

A future where this Parliament resolves that the injustices of the past must never, never happen again.

A future where we harness the determination of all Australians, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, to close the gap that lies between us in life expectancy, educational achievement and economic opportunity.

A future where we embrace the possibility of new solutions to enduring problems where old approaches have changed.

A future based on mutual respect, mutual resolve and mutual responsibility.

A future where all Australians, whatever their origins, are truly equal partners, with equal opportunities and with an equal stake in shaping the next chapter in the history of this great country.

the only way this will become a good thing is if Krud says "ok, we have said sorry, you are now equals with everyones else. We are now stripping away all the preferential treatment you have been getting. ps f*** YOU!!!"

cant see it happening that way though, can you?

Also, Time to treat everyone equally.

I'm so sick of people calling me racist for opposing this appology.

My family only came to this country 25 years ago (and have worked our asses off since and contributed much to the economy and society), so not even my ancestors were Austrlaian when this happened. And now, somebody is appologising on my behalf because I'm a white Australian? These do-gooders are saying a group should be subjected to something on the grounds of race.

Now who's the racist?

I'm with CT, I feel sorry for these people, I really do .. but I don't feel guilty

I don't think anyone who isn't directly responsible for the treatment of the stolen generation should be apologising for it
We as a people did not do this, it was a decision by a few f***ed up individuals and their followers

I certainly didn't have anything to do with it and I don't feel great that someone whom was elected as the leader of my country feels he has the right to apologise on my behalf.

All this does is give aboriginals a greater chance to demand more compensation for "their horrible suffering", committed by the "white community".

It's not my fault. I am not sorry.

Is it the governments fault? This falls under the personal opinion of "is the current government categorized to be the same government of the stolen generation, or is it a different entity altogether".

Personally, I don't think we should be apologizing as a nation, nor do I think the apology should be towards aboriginals not affected by the stolen generation.

In 20 years, providing Aboriginals get on their feet, abolish the stereotype of petrol sniffing grog guzzlers, and stop leeching 50 grand a year off the government and accept that western society owns the world, nobody will even remember the stolen generation. THEN we will all be equal.

50 grand a year for a 6 y/o Aboriginal? What the f*** is that? Equality?! Surely that figure is incorrect. Who pays 50 grand to children?

Overlooking the Americanised spelling, aP are you suggesting the Government should also apologise to the Chinese for their mistreatment during the gold rush?

People are forgetting that different social attitudes prevailed during that era. The social attitudes of today should not condemn, let alone force the 21st century Australia to apologise for policies of the past.

The government of australia should apologise for the bad things the government of australia has done to the aboriginal people.

The individuals in parliament now who had nothing to do with the past mistakes of the government shouldn't have to make an appology, but they should be free to do so if they wish. The problem is that they are appologising on my behalf for something me or my ancestors didn't do, simply because I belong to a particular ethinc group (or don't belong to one). I'm sure there are many other people on this forum who fit that description.

Seriously, think back to any race that has wronged your ancestors. If this group offered to appologise for their wrongs, whould you want them to? I'm guessing a normal person of reasonable intelligence who grew up in a first world country would say no. Now, imagine if you could screw the government of said group out of money if the apology, would it mean more to you? s***, I don't want the Japanese or Germans apologising for anything their ancestors did. I wouldn't want their government offering one that half their population opposed.

LOL! Yeah I'll support hte apology as soon as Corey apologises for what he did. No wait, let's make teenagers in 30 years time apologise for it! While we're out painting entire groups with the same brush, how about we make all indigenous people apologise for my cousin's bike that got stolen? Or make them apologise to all children, because of the few of them who rape children.

Seriously though, will the idiots who fell for Krudd's sensationalist bulls*** ever realise how f***ing dumb they were? Enjoy paying all your money to cover your insane mortgage repayments and taxes to cover payouts to aborigines, you stupid a******s!

These actual legal proceedings have yet to materialize as far as I know

Anyone with a legal background (Le Cock?) who can offer an opinion on the matter?

Would the Fed Govt. be liable, given that while 'sorry' is an admission of guilt, the intent at the time (re stolen generation) was to look after those who couldn't look after themselves?

Pretty f***ed if a bunch of Class actions spring up if you ask me. Way to reinforce community opinion..
