I get "You don't appear to be logged in!" error when I attempt to upload a new avatar, even though I'm already logged in (I have to be to even access that page)

You using FF? It don't work, you need to use IE

firefox problem - use IE

or you can install 'ie tab' add-on for firefox, then you're only one click away from using ie's engine

does the uploading feature resave the files at different compression settings? it seems to be borking my gif
