sup guys.


PC just decided to s*** itself - when i boot, it posts fine, gets to the memory checking screen, and there are lines running down the screen everywhere and all little jaggedy bits coming off the text. It then goes to the next screen, does the same sort of thing, then hangs =/

So i figured it must be my video card, but i took apart my whole pc, gave it a blow out with an air compressor, and put just 1 stick of ram back in, my cpu, and my vid card. and it did the exact same thing.

So i'm guessing my video card (which is a 6600GT albatron) is f***ed.


do you concur? what vid card should i buy?

1) AGP or PCI-E?

2) Try another videocard before running off to buy one, its likely to be video from that description but it can't be guaranteed.

i got an 8800GTS 512mb G92 (the new revision) for 459 but the GTs go for <400 and theyre awesome.

im having a very bad afternoon, just went to grab the pci-e card out of my sisters pc, realised it wasn't gonna work because i dont have thee 6pin molex connector on my psu.. so i put the card straight back in without touching anything else, and the f***ing onboard nic decides to s*** itself! im on a laptop thats running off the cable to her room, so its not the cable.. and when the cable is plugged into her pc it just comes up with 'a network cable is unplugged`!!! when it clearly f***ing isn't!!! ffs
