I must say that it was one of my more trashier nights. I love free drinks all night and i love causing ruckuses.

lol guys it's not the first time i've been to rise ... but it's certainly not a regular thing, maybe once every 6mths. And in my defence I wasn't there until 10 or later like I have been in the past. My brain is still hurting though. Two large pizzas coming my way from dominos....mmmmm.

How was their set??

Did they play there classics? or do what every major DJ doin now and playn that bass trance\house stuff like PVD did :(

probably the only negative comment i've ever seen/heard about either of PvD's recent QLD sets. ps. what is bass house/trance? you mean electro trance? I didn't notice him playing any of that. PvD played prog and melodic trance with a little bit of tech. the same as he's played since... well forever. l2trance imo.

cosmic gate have moved away from their hard trance sound of a few years ago because they didn't like where the genre was going. they now play more tech trance and melodic trance.

edit: from what i heard they played a few oldies like exploration of space but for the most part it was a technically really solid but somewhat unimaginative set. though i wasn't there so i'm just going off what i've been told. i would've thought that being in the scene for as long as they have they'd be using more than 2 cdjs + mixer =/

after the reviews of that set i've heard i think i might skip them for angello & ingrosso @ SFD. when A&I played last at family (early this year was it, or maybe last i can't remember) it was one of the best nights out i've ever had.

yep, i was there. syke played a few electro sort of tracks... don't know what your talking about with PvD's set. maybe you're referring to prog? that's hardly electro-ish though.

twinsen i agree with taggs. i was actually expecting to hear sorta house-trance or what ever the f*** you call it, but didnt hear a snippet of it.

I dn, I just felt that his set wasn't as good as Skye's i wanted to hear his older stuff the only one i remember him playn was nothing but u.
abilt I was wasted by the time PVD came on, so maybe only remember bad parts of it.

Also sleepn on the beach after it wasn't the best idea.

haha, yeah my night got a bit trashy towards the end as well - it was my 20th bday party.

syke's a resident at fridays @ family. he had good track selection but his set wasn't technically very good imo. he f***ing butchered big sky which the crowd loved because it was big sky, i thought it sounded like ass. also heard a few bad mixes but crowds don't really give a s*** about that anymore, i mean just look at how popular the stafford bros are and they trainwreck an absolutely embaressing amount.

So twinsen, you expect us to take your seriously when you say syke was better than PVD. Jesus.
