I've never been able to get decent speed on Morpheus, even on common (and perfectly legal of course) files. I'm always dl/ing at half a k a sec, or the connections just keep dropping out. I'm using win98se and o@h. I've heard this may have something to do with port forwarding on my NIC? If that's the case, could someone please tell me what port Morpheus uses? |

I read somewhere that optus has slowed speeds on certian ports that napster etc use for "load balancing" purposes... |

optus used to be really s*** for me on morpheus the one day it was awesome for a while, for at least a week, but now its back to being s***, it could depend on who im downloading off though, but i have a suspicion its a optus problem |

optus has started limiting thoes ports at their end.. There was a thread at www.whirlpool.net.au about it. That might be the case but you shouldn't be limited THAT MUCH.. I've gotten a top speed of just under 40k on my bpgay connection. |

phoenix morpheus is peer to peer. Optus users probably wouldn't get much faster speeds... It is most likely the guy u were downloading form. anyway Scythe1o1 your best bet is to e-mail optus... morpheus isn't warez software and is used for legal purposes believe it or not... They most likely limited the ports |
