Discuss!

I hope the game has the same art work as the trailer, that would be cool!

I seriously doubt the game is going to have the same art-style as that video. They never change it, they just bump up the res and draw them nicer.

$10 says ken and ryu are going to be back in this one.

Either way I'm wet.

awww f*** yeah.. <3 the streetfighters.

The possibilities they have with the gfx are insane, would be silly to not move on from the drawings they've used in all the others.

Are you saying they should go 3D? Because I would be willing to bet everything I have that people will cry and complain like little f***ing bitches if they did that.

Never really cared too much about Street Fighter one way or the other, myself.

Holy s***. Cool. I was really impressed with Street Fighter III : 3rd Strike, hopefully they expand on that game play.

Also that means they may have finally finished re-vamping Street Fighter 2. Don't get me wrong I loved the game... back in '96. :)

Oh & Im pretty sure it will be 2D. I still believe the most complex fighting games out there are all 2D. The Art is so good in SF3 you wouldn't want it to be 3D.

They should use vector/object-based graphics. Screw blocky sprites and hit-boxes when you could have anti-aliasing and pixel perfect hit detection.

They've already done 3d streetfighter haven't they?

They've done 3 3D street fighters.

EX1 & EX2 on the PS were mainly flops.

Not sure about EX3, but i read it was a flop as well.

Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike: 4 Lyfe.

Less Street Fighter 4, more Marvel vs Capcom 3 please.

Seriously, it's taking a step backwards. A lot of the MvC2 and Tekken 5 players also play SF 3rd Strike, but it's bloody boring as bats***, I would rather play SF2 Turbo honestly.

I own (or have owned at some stage):

SF2
SF Alpha
SF Alpha 2
SF Alpha 3
SF EX plus
SF EX2 plus
SF 3rd Strike & SF Collection
Xmen vs SF
Marvel Super Heroes vs SF
Marvel vs Capcom
SNK vs Capcom SVC Chaos

and the one i keep coming back to is SF3: third strike. It's a true sequel to SF2 and is the most balanced, technical and fluid SF, IMO.

Unlike mash vs crunchcom... i mean.. marvel vs capcom, which is mostly about button mashing and ridiculous flashy moves. Wolverine would be the only reason to go back to playing that trash :P

Wolverine? You can't play with him or 90% of the characters, this just shows you never even learnt how to play properly so your opinion is worthless.

You can use either Magneto, Storm, Sentinel or Cable as characters 1 + 2. 99% of people use either Cyclops, Captain Commando or Pyslocke as character 3 (assist), I've seen a few pro's use Tron Bonne or Iron Man but this is slowly dissapearing. Only exception to this rule is one pro that uses Strider with Doctor Doom AAA.

It takes most people 12 months of everyday playing to even reach the level where it turns into a different game.

It's not a standard fighting game and if you treat it like Street Fighter you're missing out... basic techniques (game engine exploits) take months to even learn, not like SF with it's move lists and a few supers.

You can stick to throwing out hadokens :)

Yeah it's really a button mashing game :S Show me a 3rd Strike clip that compares with the intensity of MvC2.

Im gonna have to agree with the champ, also during my holidays I unlocked pages 7 to 10 of extra options for SFIII:3S and I gotta say, even though it's not "standard", allowing all special moves to be canceled & having all Super arts in a fight is just plain awesome. It's is very difficult to do certain cancels due to the true speed required to do them, but yea I really hope they go that direction cuz the combos that can be done are just impressive.

Here's all the animations for SFIII:3S to prove my point on it's quality

That's the only way to play MvC2, it's got a massively steep learning curve and if you never progressed beyond a beginner (playing it like SF) you can't bag it out. That's like somebody playing 3rd Strike, only mashing punch button and then complaining it sucks... no, the player is just a f***ing idiot that doesn't know how to play, just like the above that uses Wolverine.

Btw Gunva come to Replay and I'll battle you at 3rd Strike :)

I got decent at SF on PC then went to an arcade and sucked with the joystick :(

IMO stick with the 2D but they can still improve on the graphics..

ummmmmmmmmm............ am i missing something here?

Chub if you actually read my post you would've noticed i was talking about Marvel vs Capcom 1 ie. the first one. And yes wolverine is in there and is my fav character for that game, so i still dont get what you're chucking a sook for?

and yes my previous comment still stands about the heavy involvement of button mashing of M vs Capcom:

ONE/ONO/EINS/WAHID/YADUN/EK

in comparison to SF3, which i'll merely assume is the same for MvsCapcom 2 but whatever.

Compare the clip you posted to the one I posted and you can understand my viewpoint.

It's not a mashing game, every single direction and button press is precise in that clip, you got to have super fast hands.

s*** even something simple like Magneto's triangular jumping (super jump cancelled into diagonal down/foward air dash + attack, counting as overhead attack that you can't block crouching) requires super fast hands (u,d,d/f+PP, attack in 1/5 second) and takes people months to learn.

If you don't like steep learning curves and you don't like the play style, then I'm pretty sure someone could come up with their very own opinion of not liking the game.

I'm not saying I think the games sucks, I haven't played it and probably wont any time soon.

There hasn't been a SF release i didn't like. Love the vs series, Snk not so much, but kim and robert garcia ftw none the less. Even the EX series was great, Raging Dinner anyone? MVC1 Armour Spidey/Hulk/Megaman ftw, MVC2 Cable/Megaman/Sentinel.

Should never have sold my dreamcast :*( Sooo many games. Lots in Japansese that never made it here or in the US. b00tdisk wins!

Haha Spook, i to have been spoiled by binding joypad buttons to macro's, hence CHUB you'd probably hand me my arse on a plate at SF3 in the arcade. But when I get my new TV (which will now be a later due to expensive engine failure in car) I'll probably have a SF3 Comp at home with work mates & other game company employees, ill post here for anyone else interested. Then we can see your arcade stick kung fu vs my Ps2 pad kung fu :)

Similar set up to this, but probably PS2 controllers etc:

Nintendo did cel shading to death with The Wind Waker, but this looks like a cool new style of graphics for a game if they decided to do it this way.

Of course we all know they won't, and it'll be normal.

They did cell shading "to death" with one (very good) game? Right.
