Hi... works hassling me to get my certification. Anyone know of a place that does the course regularly and is close to Toowong? The ones I've heard of so far are miles away, which might have to do.

Thanks Scoobs that looks good. Is there any danger of them lying about it being certified? My manager at work said that all online ones aren't certified... but she is a bit of a noob.

When you do do your RSA make sure you are able to use it in brisbane. Because we have the 3am lockout, you have to do an extra part on top of your RSA to work inside brisbane.

If it is located in brissy you will still have to get it. Half the ppl won't even know they have it. But if you go through an online company, you will have to go elsewhere to get the brisbane recognised rsa

I dont think it's even compulsory to have an RSA just if you're a casual employee of a bottle o, so I doubt I'd need to worry about that extra doobie bit.

i did mine at sarina russo, did a barista/bar course, and got an RSA as part of it

But ours was good. The guy who did ours was a manager of a pub on the Sunshine Coast, and basically during the whole course he would just tell us stories and stuff that have happened to him, imparting his experience and knowledge onto us that way.

Then when it came time to fill out those stupid books he just told us the answers and we went home.

Where abouts in Brisbane you live? I did mine last year at the Indooroopilly Hotel. It was run by a company called FROGS. I have nfi how to link s*** cos I'm internet illiterate, but their website is

Forget how much it cost ($100-$120) but it was like 2-3 hours long max. I did the straight bar RSA. They offer a bottleshop RSA as a seperate course.

There is a big consultancy/education company on Coronation Drive that does it, just can't think of their name at the moment. They are just near the Park Road intersection.

Update -

So I did the course online that scoobs linked to (CHAMPION BTW). It says it takes 4 - 6 hours to complete... I did it in about 30 - 40 minutes. Around $75. I got the certificate in the mail today after sitting the course on Monday. Totally recommend it to anyone who has to do it.

my brother did his at tafe, southbank.

I think if you work for an ALH or MGW/Woolworths hotel you may have to do one for them regardless, as they have their own policy additions. Hopefully that will be enough though.
