I am having trouble getitng Battlefiedl 2 to run in x64. Initially the title screen pops up then there is a microsoft error saying i have a problem with the bf2.exe. Has anybody else overcome this problem and enjoyed battlefield goodnees on 64bit platform? Through me some suggestions.

Could this be a problem with your vid drivers not being 64bit? All your hadware needs to have 64bit drivers for it to work in 64bit and be stable.

I ran windows x64 a while back, prob when bf2 had 1.2 or 1.3 patch and it worked fine for me. I can't remember if i ran it in compatibility mode or not. Just make sure you have the latest updates for windows and the proper drivers for your graphics card.

My BF2 runs a treat.....Vista 64bit Ultimate. I am running an 8800GTS with latest drivers. Try this:

If you have any kind of refresh rate overide turned on, BF2 won't load until you set that same resolution and refresh rate inside the game. Like Vanilla XP, x64 also has the 60hz bug. So if you've changed that, BF2 won't load until you change that in the video option settings. And the only way you can get the game to load to change those is settings is to disable and refresh rate overrides. Once you've set the resolution/refresh rate inside the game, you can re-enable your refresh overrides. and it will load normally.
