Made the trip down to the yatala drive in on saturday night, first time I've been since I was about 5 and saw a double feature of karate kid and ghostbusters, and my fiancée had never been before.

It was an awesome night, saw a Transformers and Knocked Up double feature, lots of people either backed up in their station wagons with the back open with blankets, one family even had a mattress on their roofrack. We just brought some blankets and a ton of food and sat in the front seat of the car, you just tune your radio into a certain station to get sound, or you can still use the old style speakers mounted on your window. Only $14 for both movies (or $10 for one), it's a bit of an ordeal though, about 7 hours in total. Gates open at 5:30pm for the 7pm showing, so you've gotta get in early for a good park, then it started half an hour late so we didn't leave til 12ish. Overall a great night though and would probably fun and cheap for those with kids.

Since when have you been engaged? I guess congratulations are in order.

8-)
WOMAN: I wonder what happened to my fiancé. I know he's here somewhere. Ellen? Have you seen my fiancé?
ELLEN: He's upstairs.
WOMAN: Are you going upstairs? Tell my fiancé I'm looking for him. I have lost my fiancé, the poor baby.
ELAINE: Maybe the dingo ate your baby.

For a second I thought they were still showing Karate Kid and Ghostbusters.

That's awesome about the car stereo option. A breakthrough in drive-in technology :D

I'll have a one tonne ute soon with a nice flat bet to chuck a big mattress on that 4 or more people could easily fit on (obviously 2 couples you fags). Unfortunately the car only holds 2 people, which would be nice if I could find a 2nd person to go to a movie with me :(

I have no friends.

I've been to yatala a few times. I highly recommend although I prolly wouldn't go see an action movie there like transformers.
+1

also for the lazy trolls

Awesome! I didn't know there was still a drive in. Will definetely go check it out.

All I remember is back in the day, dad making like 7 kids hide under the seats/in the boot of the van and buying 2 adult tickets, then once we get in, unleashing the hoard.
