I'll battle you on Mario Kart

If you win, you get my GC + everything (10 games + 3 controllers + wavebird)
If I win, I get you Wii

Muahaha, I am MK:DD God!

Though seriously, I'm buying up GC stuff atm, getting so hard to find... got games at Kmart the other day for $19.95 a piece.

go see if cash converters have it? They seem to stock ancient bulls*** for consoles. I bet they're still trying to sell mega drives for $100

Seriously though if anyone has GC controllers or games they're letting go at reasonable price ($10 for a crap game, $30 - 40 for the really good ones), PM me.

I couldn't believe it - I went into the local EB and they had SSB in the 3 for 50 bucks bin. Score.

Just need to pick up Mario Sunshine from somewhere, since it looks like they aren't gonna hurry releasing paper mario in Australia for some reason.

unfortunately you missed Supanova (pop culture expo). They had a wall of Game cubes, lotsa controllers, SSB and many more games. Check out there website, may have a link to the people who were selling them. Might not help but thought Id mention it.

GCN was still the best 'party' console.

i dunno Wii gets better and better the more people u got, once it gets some of the few uber games that held GC up it will easily take it

I've just bought 3 wireless gamecube controllers off ebay and buying another one. Havn't received them yet though, but they're coming. And I was just looking through a mates gamecube games that he left here, and he has super smash meelee. Score. Can't wait to get my controllers and get some 4 players going.

There's a guy selling a GC, two controllers, mem card and 13 games for Reserve of $200 on OCAU.

Not a bad deal if the price doesn't go too high.

GCN was still the best 'party' console.

It certainly has the most and best variety. Sure, games like Mario Kart, Smash Brothers and Mario party ROCK for party or chilling with mates, but I still think that Guitar Hero is the best party game around atm though. My mates are always nagging me to bring my PS2 + GH to parties or if they can borrrow it for other people's parties etc.

FYI, the answer is always no. Don't want drunken strangers touching my precious guitar controllers, or some f***wad kicking/dropping the PS2 and breaking the HDD.

Aren't all the EB's desperately trying to get rid of all their GC (especially pre-owned) stock? Might be worth doing a bit of leg work, see what they have.

I know nothing about Wii compatibility.

The Wii is basically a GCN overclocked by about 50%, so it pretty much has a 100% compatibility list. I've never heard of a GC game not working on a Wii, but I haven't looked into it that much.

so the newer controllers been made for the game cube should work on the wii, not the original ones? :D

If you mean the Wii Classic Controller, then no it only works on the Wii.

the classic controller doesn't work on playing gamecube games on the wii either...

nah there are knock off game cube remotes on ebay, as in same design just not made by nintendo, thinking of grabbing some but only if they work with the Wii.. i already got a couple of classic controllers but i want some gc ones

I bought a couple of knockoff GC controllers off EBay and they work fine.

I'm not too impressed with the shoulder buttons on one of em tho, sticks from time to time. They were cheap tho, as always you get what ya pay for :)

man only the love for this game is letting me put up with all this s***e

ok, i've got ssb... went to play it last night.. says it needed a memory card from gamecube i went alright, went and picked one up today.. and now i get home, put the gamecube card into the slot labeled on the wii.... go to load the game and it comes up with a "the memory card in slot a has no saved game data. create game data? yes / no"...

now ud think it would be pretty simple by hitting yes.... however every time i get to this screen my remote is switched off and i can't f***ing hit it. I've tried with my remote only, i've tried with the classic controller attached my only last thought is nintendo is in fact so retarded that only a gamecube controller can actually hit yes... plz tell me it ain't true and there's someway i can get around this s***.

You need a GameCube controller and memory card to play GameCube games.

When you start the console with a GC game in it, it boots into what seems to be plain old GameCube mode, it no longer thinks its a Wii at all - its actually a pain in the arse to get back to the Wii desktop thingy once you're in a GC game. The Wiimote and classic controller just won't work - to play Game Cube games on the Wii you need 100% GameCube hardware. Controllers, memory card etc.
