My flatmate typed the following into my hotmail account. (See below)

admin_pswrd_request@hotmail.com



"login failed;hotmail/egi-bin/login/(your msn address)"",password failed;hotmail/egi-bin/login/(your password)""login=(the account to be cracked)"

Now I cannot login to email or messenger as the password has been changed. I tried to reset password this didn't work for me. (he thought it would be rather amusing)

Anyone have any ideas on what I could do? I have some fairly important emails and business contacts :(

Get a Gmail account.

The lesson here is, don't use a free email that you have no control over for business purposes - ever.

Actually trog ... I have seen people get screwwed over when they do the "right" thing and get a domain name and hosting etc etc.

I think the lesson here is don't rely on a single service and store important stuff (emails, documents or even contact details) in more then 1 place.

You'll be laughing about this in a few years.

g/f had it happen with her company, the company she had doing the domain registration wasn't on the ball so when it expired and the didn't re-register it straight away, a domain sitter came in. I mean it was easily resolved but it took weeks. Its a small business and it was at the start of the school year when they get most of their enquiries.

What does that email address actually do? What purpose is it actually intended to serve?
