I'll probably get one when mgs4 comes out (if it doesn't end up coming to 360), otherwise I'll wait for God of War 3.

Michael Ephraim, managing director of Sony Computer Entertainment Australia, said the PS3 will still have a place in the living room in 10 years' time. What, as a doorstop? From here: Gamers queue to buy PS3 |

Michael Ephraim, managing director of Sony Computer Entertainment Australia, said the PS3 will still have a place in the living room in 10 years' time. What an outrageous statement. We should all buy one and return it in 5 years time when it has no use for a full refund of initial value or a ps4. |

Yeah we went and picked up ours at the launch at stafford.
We got 2 games, Sonic and Ridge Racer 7. The first thing i noticed was how good it looked on the HD LCD TV i was playing it on. Sonic has good gameplay although the graphics are still to cartoony for my liking. The models look a little outdated although it kept the original parts of gameplay that made the original sonics so good on sega. The wireless controls are cool and they can be charged via a usb cable that comes with the console which is handy. Ridge Racer is pretty fun, the graphics, textures, models and lighting are some of the best I have ever seen. The PS3 definently looks a s***load sweeter than the xbox 360, it has a nice shiny metallic look. The built in menu on the console is easy to use. It also seems they have made the setup really easy for those who want to play online. All in all, a good console. Although, at the moment a little overpriced. |

We got 2 games, Sonic and Ridge Racer 7. You didn't get Motorstorm or VF5 or Resistance? Thats a whole lot of money spent to play Sonic... What do you get in the box dude? I can tell you what you don't get, a HDMI cable. Even cheapass Digital TV Tuners these days come with a free HDMI cable! I guess Sony realised they could get another $150 out of the suckers by branding a normal HDMI cable as a "Sony PS3 High Definition Output cable" and selling it separate* * Note, I don't actually know if Sony is doing this, but it sounds like something they'd do. |

he's leaving it here for the night. I just downloaded a few demos' for it, seems alright although i'm using it on a sd tv :( Anyone know how to get ps2 games emulated on it? My mate reckons the salesman said you could download ps2 games onto it, i googled a little but couldn't find diddly. |

You can't download PS2 games. You can download PS1 games to your PSP however.

oh my f***ing god. you bought a 1000 dollar console and bought Sonic. I coughed on my drink as I read that.
That game is a f***ing abortion. The Wii version is miles above and beyond probably the best 3d sonic game ever made, that 'next gen' ps3/360 one is probably the worst sonic game ever made. All I can do is LOL. Here are some reviews:
After I played the demo on 360 I couldn't believe that Sonic Team would put out such utter trash. TAAAKE IT BACK!! |

I didn't buy the game asswipe. Someone else did. They can buy whatever f***en game they like. Or next time anyone i know buys a game I will make sure i ask you first.
I know its not all that great, I played it. We bought a HDMI cable for 30 dollars, after market brand. I didn't see any Sony brand hdmi cables at EB. P.S The console didn't cost us 1000 dollars. More to the mark of 800. |

man none of my mates old ps2 games work on this brick Has he updated the ps3 online at all? I read that the Aussie version of ps3 doesn't come with the ps2 engine but they have updates to allow backwards compatibility on the new engine. Some games still don't work but over time they'll add more compatibility for older games. |
