most of the mixing bowl sets are broadcast on bbc

i cant see how they are illegal

considering the popularity of mixingbowl, im sure it would have been shut down ages ago if it was illegal

if u know internets and u dont know mixing bowl, u dont know internets

i dunno, are radio broadcasts unrecordable?
because a lot of sets on mixingbowl are just british radio sets

that said, there are a lot of them are bedroom djs playing their favorite records also, which are probably not legal to dl i guess

its a pretty high profile site, so id be suprised if its lasted this long without being shut down by someoness layweers

no royalties for broardcast collected = illegal, radio stations pay a royalties collection agency for every track they play, for example in australia the collection agency is usually APRA.

I think you should be fine [morally] recording radio sets for personal use, state/nation-specific law aside. It would be like taping a TV show to watch later.

Once you begin to redistribute though ...

you would have the check UK copyright law but generally speaking it is illegal to copy to any public broadcast.

cf Australian copyright changes which recently made it legal to tape a tv show for the sole purpose of watching it later, after which time it must be destroyed.

sorry troggles, was in response to whichever admin closed taggs thread

Dance Music Torrents | Removed: Let's pirate music lol
www.mixingbowl.org

to be honest, i wasnt sure if the site is illegal, and it appears to be one of those internet grey areas

mixing bowl dont provide torrents to commercial mixes, but they do supply torrents to radio shows and mixes that use commercial music

doesnt hurt that most dance music artists are about getting their music heard, and not like rock music bands which are about getting paid (sup metalica)
