Beer + Bourbon + Air Con + Pool + TV's + BBQ + Cricket + mates

What a way to spend Boxing Day, if only the GF would oblig me a bit of rumpty tee tumpty afterwards (doubtful due to the presence of Bullet Burbon and usually the extreme desire to lie face first on the couch and snore), oh and the Syndey to Hobart start, what a DAY *roy + HG* when too much sport is not enough...

EDIT :: Its only 9:30am here in WA... :( not allowed to start drinking till 11am, how bloody unAustralian, and she's a POM... :) makes the taunts even better...

How unbloody Australian, here we are kicking the poms fair and square in the nuts and all you want to do is sleep! You'd better be down the local at openning to give it to any pom with in ear shot!

Just watching the highlights package on BBC now...I don't know how Warney was bowling generally through his spells (we get 30mins of footage), but the poms certainly did their best to make him look better...5 wickets from guys trying to go for slogs. Stupid stupid batting... only the rain could stop it from being 5-nil.

Symonds > Watson
You have to at least feel a bit sorry for the guy, gets injured and has to sit out the entire series...and surely now you think Symonds is at least gonna get a bunch more games from this performance...11 months till the next test matches as well

Gonna be a long hard wait for Watto.

Holy crap, that must have been an onslaught!

I have always said that Symonds is one of, if not the greatest ONE DAY player Australia has ever produced, but that he would never cut it in tests. I humbly eat my words (with some salt and pepper - Hayden/Symonds style).

apparently everyone reckons watson is soft and needs to harden up to retain a place in the aus team. I feel sorry for him though, missing out on this ashes experience. Then again, things might have gone a bit differently hard stuart clarke not stepped in and owned.

hahah at the poms.

I went to a mate from works place for boxing day/st stephens day (as they call it) and schooled him on the cricket, whilst getting blind drunk :p

Watched it till 5am (Irish time) - tea.

Roy and Haydo's owned it up hard. Tempted to watch the first hour or so tonight to see if Roy is just going to cut sik with Warnie and hit his 2 hunge

We'll bowl them out sub 200 again for sure

A genuinely tear-jerking moment watching the revered Shane Warne walk of his MCG for the last time.

Only time will tell how much this great man will be missed.

don't get too excited about Symonds. Nobody doubted he could score a test century, but once every 30 innings or so still isn't going to cut it.

I get the feeling that he has been working towards an innings like this vs finally lucking out and getting it. Hoping he can back it up with some solid innings.

We'll see spidz, Personally I think he's learning how to build a test match innings everytime he goes out to bat. What I would like to see is Ponting using him more often for his offspinners working in tandem with a Warne/MacGill at the other end.

Hate to say it but I agree. Symonds is good but only if he gets going. Once he gets settled he's hard to get out, it's the getting settled part that he seems to have the most trouble with.

His test century reminded me of the time he made 150 odd against pakistan in the 03 world cup and never looked back.

Symonds is almost worth having on the team just because of his fielding.

Also, stupid england, now I have nothing to do for the next 2 days. Couldn't they have drawn it out past three days? Losers.

Really makes you wonder, Warnie comes on and knocks out 40 runs yet noone in England's entire batting order (apart from Strauss) can even match that with 2 attempts each! :/

Isn't symonds test batting average like 18 or some rubbish?

According to baggygreen its now 26.11

Interestingly he has hit 14 sixes in 12 tests. That would have to be a rare stat - more sixes than matches played...

And he is still keeping a 90+ strike rate in ODI's.

Perfect SCG send off requires McGrath getting the last wicket in the first innings, Warne getting the last of the second, and both batsman not being dismissed in the match (they don't necessarily have to bat).
