You guys might be interested in this if you like Pink Floyd. Some regae band called Easy Star Allstars have done their own version of the album called Dub Side Of The Moon. So if you like regae type stuff you might get into this.

However, it's nowhere as awesome as the Floyd version though.

Heh, the music isnt just guitar work, it's the most amazing array of instrumental work you'll ever hear and the "techno" like sounds that pink floyd pioneered are also amazing when placed with real instruments.

Diffrent strokes for diffrent folks mate.

Pink Floyd evolved from an earlier band, formed in 1964, which was at various times called Sigma 6, The Megga Deaths, The Screaming Abdabs, and The Abdabs. When this band split up, some members — guitarists Bob Klose, and Roger Waters, drummer Nick Mason, and wind instrument player Rick Wright — formed a new band called Tea Set, and were joined shortly thereafter by guitarist Syd Barrett, who became the band's primary vocalist as well.[7] When Tea Set found themselves on the same bill as another band with the same name, Barrett came up with an alternative name on the spur of the moment, choosing The Pink Floyd Sound (after his two cats Pink and Floyd, which in turn were named after two blues musicians, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council).[8][9] For a time after this they oscillated between 'Tea Set' and 'The Pink Floyd Sound', with the latter name eventually winning out.

So while the Crazy Diamond thought up the name, and certainly drove the early stages etc etc... I would probably credit Waters with actually getting the people together, also Syd was mostly stoned.

Well, most of you have probably heard at one time or another that The Wizard Of Oz and Pink Floyds "Dark Side Of The Moon" synch up. Hell, you may have even passed on the rumor yourself!

I've heard it time and time again, but I've never tried it myself. But I stumbled on a link to the movie with Dark Side Of The Moon playing on top of it, so I figured I might as well check it out.
Here's the link to it.

And here's a link to the list of things that supposedly synch up.

I downloaded the movie with the album dubbed over the top a while ago and yes, it does seem to match up. However the movie goes for twice as long as the album so when the music starts from the beginning again it doesn't fit with any of the scenes from the second half.

But yeah, the first time the album plays it's quite a co-inkidink. Especially when money kicks in as the film goes from black and white to colour and Dorothy opens the door of her house and sees Oz for the first time.
