Hey just bought a new 300gb hard drive and when i tried to get into windows xp my computer goes black... the bios is all correct and jumpers and everything it loads windows xp but then it goes black just before the blue start up screen saying welcome to windows???

Do you mean you are using this as your OS drive? Or have you just dumped the drive in as an extra storage drive?
Does windows boot normally when the drive is removed (providing you aren't using it as the OS drive... obviously) |

Are you sure your PSU can handle the extra load generated by the new HDD. Whats your PSU specs?
