Yep looks good. x2 have come down seeing as Conroe is around the corner. I wouldn't bother with that video card, i'd wait for the DX10 cards now. Get a cheaper card and wait it out.

I agree with Skitza on the video card front, seems pointless buying a 1000 dollar video card now when the direct X 10 cards are due out possibly within as little as a few months.

I'd wait until the conroe chips are out before splurging.
I'd also recommend againt the gx2, or anything ever top of the line for that matter. Once the next greatest thing comes out they will drop a considerable amount and then you'll wonder why you spent that much on it only a few weeks before. However if you are burning cash for fun then go right ahead! |

unless you want a thousand and one sata hdd's in your machine, you don't need the premium board. It's overpriced if all you want is a SLI nForce4 board. A standard A8N-SLI board would suffice.
Check out asus website and do a comparison on A8N-SLI, and A8N-SLI PREMIUM, and see if the differences are worth you paying the extra. It does have a funky heat pipe thing happening, but I don't think it's worth the extra eleven billionty dollars it'll cost you for it. |

second to that, I'm not extremely fussed with XFX at the moment. the warranty from MMT (disty of them) is absolutely piss-poor, as I've been waiting now 5 weeks on a 7900GT video card. One would think while they're still in the current series, the distributor would be able to replace them with stock reasonably quick, but strangely not. Umart guys are doing all they can to get it back, but at this stage it seems like I'll get it back when Michael Jackson stops kiddy fiddling.....
NOT HAPPY JAN! |

Only problem with the a8n-sli is the s***set fan. They fail often enough and run quite fast which equals annoying whine.
Easily fixed with a zalman chipset passive sink though (providing you don't mind a very minor mod). Not good about the XFX... I have one of the exact same cards :S After hearing that I'm hoping mine stays alive for a long time :P |
