Kevin Smith has posted to his blog a story about Jason Mewes (aka the Jay of Jay and Silent Bob fame); its an interesting read and as just about everything else Smith writes, pretty damn funny.

(It is rated MA15+ so read at your own risk, etc).

edit: I thought it was just the first part of the story but there are several parts available!

Also there apparently is a Clerks 2 which everyone else in the world knew about except me - trailer.

This is quite a good read, nice find.

Read that a few days ago. I cracked up at Jay when he sees Ben Afflect in rehab "Well look at this morose motherf***er right here". He sounds just as hilarious in real life as he is on screen. So well written.

wow! that was a great read. always interesting to hear what KS has to say. that would have been s*** having to put up with mewes' constant lying about the drugs and such..

Yeh I finally finished reading it all; man Kevin Smith has near infinite patience. He put up with heaps of s*** before finally cracking it. I reckon Mewes is one of the funniest guys I've ever seen on TV and its a pity he got caught up in all that drugs stuff. Looking forward to seeing Clerks 2 (and now I want to bust out Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back).

i just finished reading all of that myself after like 1 1/2 hours. i gotta agree with you trog. i dont know anyone who would of put up with that for so long with so much paitence. real shame too cuz jason is hillarious on screen. no clue how he is doing now, but i hope hes better.

The Mewes story is really interesting, tragic and sad but as someone who knows very little about substance abuse and addiction, it's a fascinating insight into the Smith world.

And damn the guy can write.

He looked a lot worse for wear, but he seemed chipper, taking me through our new house and showing me where he’d slept or banged girls when he’d stayed with Ben a few times, pre- and post-Promises.

hahahahaha. just the way he writes some of the lines, i can really imagine jay in character doing that.

Nice story! Poor Mewes...but i can't resist saying its all his own fault. But I don't think i can comprehend what he has been through or what it is like.
Im pretty impressed with the way Mewes took things...kevin would fully tell him to f*** off and hes like "yep i understand man".

Good to see that hes alive and clean for 3 years, and he finally did beat it.

Should be interesting to see how his character is in Clerks 2, seeing as most of the time he played "Jay" he was on something.

Yeah thats a really really good read, Was hanging for the last 2 instalments. If you like that give Into A Million Pieces by James Frey (I think thats who its by).
