Anyone else done / planniing this as yet?
It's an area I'm pretty weak in and as it's fast becoming a major area of my workplace I've decided to take the plunge. Starting with RH033 (as I said I'm a newb with Linux) then RH133 then RH253 a bit later down the track once I've had a chance to put my theory to practice in both a development and production environment.
I'm lucky in the fact that I have been able to salary sacrifice the entire course (takes it from $7,895 down to $6,316 with me basically only having to pay $4K of that out of my nett wage). That means that I get around a nett 42% off the entire course (+ I get a linux boogie board, towel an cap as part of some promo lol)

One of the two braniac's (both in Linux) here at work has already done the course an says it's really good as well. Just wondering if anyone else has done it / intending to do it and how they've found it?

Forget Redhat

NCLP and NCLE ...

Hell one of the uni's is offering a combined Masters in IT with NCLE (can do it via Excom).

No Novell stuff at my work which directly relates to my ability to salary sacrifice (and benefit from almost a 42% cost reduction out of my pocket) without attracting insane amounts of FBT. As to uni, dude, I didn't even finish Yr 10 like 17 years ago. Sif I'm gonna sit through uni to get a Masters =)
Maybe later down the track. One thing at a time for me at .. heya look, a bright shiny thing. Huh, oh yeah what was I say? One thing at a time so I don't get distra.. Aww look, it's the bright shiny thing again ;P

I've done the RHCE course.

It really tests your knowledge. Very broad, covers all areas of RedHat Linux. I learnt heaps. I recommend doing it, but it's not for newbies. Work paid for mine. Mine went for 5 days, and the exam was the whole of the 5th day and only cost $2750 ex-tax.

Hermitech ... the NCLP and NCLE are linux courses with extra modules for the OES stuff. So if its a generic Linux cert you are after they are fairly equiviliant but 1 had an extra bonus of some extra stuff (tm).

But I have a slant against Redhat, I have never liked it.
