It was 25% off in EB's sale, think that brought it down to something like $65. Dunno if their sale is still going though...

haha im lookin forward to it :D lack of social life for 1 1/2 months till uni would be nice, have to get gf hooked on it as well :)

on that note, can two people play using the same account on different servers at the same time?

nope. Your Girlfriend will have to buy her own, which shouldn't take too much convincing, since it'll be the only way to contact you after level 25 :)

P.S. Join Twisting Nether Realm

The cheapest place to buy WoW is the Cyber Room on Adelaide Street in the city. $57 for the game and $32 for the 2 month cards.

eBay?

But, I have seen a trial copy at Myer/EB for $2 or something .. not sure if this can then be upgraded to the full blown version without buying the game.

It is on DVD and it does take a bloody long time to install because it's huge. I think I have lost my girlfriend to it. Very bad game!

It's a 4gig install so it'll take a while. Also, come play on Eldre Thalas with me. No que time and it's not over populated plus I need someone to play with.

LOL

Just download the patches from Ausgamers, be way quicker than getting them automatically from Blizzard.

Playing on an unpopulated server may initially seem like a good idea, no competition for quests, no queue, etc, but it'll bite you in the ass later on. You won't get as much stuff on the AH and you'll start finding it a lot harder to get groups and get into BGs.

If you want to get some stats on server population, horde:alliance ratio, level spread, etc for the different servers check out www.warcraftrealms.com and check out the Wow Census link. Theres also http://www.wowcensus.com which is run by the Thottbot guys, but it seems its down atm.

Its worth it Whitey!
Also, Alliance Ftw. Horde are stinky and should burn.

So, to recap:

1) Woot for wow
2) Patches.
3) Twisting Nether FTW
4) Horde smell

..5) Tiny is also a pussy ^_^

oh alliance nub ... when will you guys ever learn. Raiding horde territory then crying hax everytime you die. :P:P.

No no, jokes aside Proudmoore FTW (simply because i have a mate on it).

And the Horde do smell considering we are a bunch of monsters. :P, But we stil pwn alliance ass :-).

The reason i chose PVE is because i want to be able to explore without getting nailed, whats the difference? Also on the subject of PVE when the 60 night elfs run into lowbie horde territory and kill lowbies questing? How is that fair!. HAving a choice between pvp and pve is the reason i choose Proudmoore.

Eh? Most 60s have enough sence in PvP realms to not attack helpless lowbies unless they're being complete arse-hats. I've been escorted through Feralas by a 60 Undead Rogue (to get Artisan Alchemy - Alchemy ftw btw), working together in an awkward truce/horde boredom group.
Its times like those when you think "You know what? Next time I see some lvl 30 undead rogue, I'm just going to leave him be unless he attacks me first". I tend to pay it forward, which is something I don't think I could have experienced in Pve.

Pvp Servers also allow for much more utilisation of my Alchemy. I love invis+hearthing just before a large group of stupid orcs reach me. You see them stop in their tracks, and instantly spread out.

I admit, I joined Twisting Nether because I have friends there. But the realm grows on ya, so choose wisely.
Also, Khel and Midda are on Twisting Nether.

Oh, and what realm did you end up choosing anyway Whitey? If you're on TN drop me a line. Alastrine

I have Rofltruck and Waambulance on spinebreaker. I like to think it annoys alliance in wsg20-29.

f*** you persay. For one thing, teh realm is RP; People can complain if you have s***ty names like OMGSN1P3RSHOT265, and can force a name change.
Another reason why I chose a non-fag name was because its more immersing playing a priestess with a priestess name.

Also some c*** took Persay :P

Choosing a name is one of the hardest things to do when rolling a new character, with upwards of 5 million people playing, theres a good change that the name your after may already be picked. Thats why people go for the "weird" sounding names, plus, its FANTASY so people can get away with some weird stuff. Although it annoys me when you see people with a well known name who have just changed a few letters around or added a few extra letters in order to get it...Blackknight, Blaknite, Blacknyte etc.

As for 60's ganking nubs, have you guys played in any of the gank capitals recently? I'm thinking STV as a prime example of bored 60's ganking nubs. It's worse for horde than alliance.

Not that I'm complaining, I think the drama is funny.
