linky

I like the way they say "we won't definitely pick him" when he is the greatest bowler the world has ever seen.

I have sort of mixed feelings about this. Warney is back to his absolute best again in the test arena and I personally believe he could play for another 3-4 years or so. Maybe playing ODIs will jeopordise this, and I reckon that the world cup has sort of been trivialised by the resurgence of a competitive test match arena. I know I won't be overly devastated if australia don't win it (unless england or nz do) but I would be devastated if we lost another test series.

Ahh well it would be good to see more Warney at the very least.

I don't have any issues with it, He's playing well and obviously feels he can make a decent contribution to helping win another World Cup for australia...I reckon he should go for it

I find it funny that just a day or two ago he said he'd give it all away if his kids are upset with the marriage split...

but warnie in any team is a plus :D

not playing ODI's wasn't really keeping him fresh as he ended up playing 4 day cricket for Vic anyway and bowling more overs, so i can see why he would come back.

I suspect he won't play many ODI's abroad unless they are combined with Test tours though.

Well now he can dump the kids with the ex wife permanently I dont see why he cant play ODI's now. Australia first, family second.

I wouldn't mind seeing some new blood in the ODI side

Mick Lewis - 2
Stuart Clark - 4
Brad Hodge - 3
Mitchell Johnson - 1
Brett Dorey - 0
James Hopes - 1
Cameron White - 5

and to a lesser extent...
Michael Hussey - 21
Nathan Bracken - 23

How many more noobs do we need? The only guy they need to look at at the moment would be Hogg, however there aren't really too many spinners pushing for ODI claims at the moment (Dan Cullen maybe?). Warney would still carve up in the one dayers, but I don't think he should have another crack. He probably should wind down the amount of domestic cricket he plays (ie give away ING games at least).

True - Hoggy is still doing alright, but yeah he might not be the option for the next world cup. Nor is Cameron White - he is a batting allrounder, his spin is not really up to the level the Aussies need.

We need an Australian A and B side.

we have an australian A team - they just dont tour/play many games during our domestic season, cause then thats roughly 25 players out of domestic competitions

we toured pakistan last year from memory and did ok'ish - not bad for a very young team on an OS tour
