Hey gang!

Just wondering what it means by those training points for my pet. It says 54 so I'm wondering if I can do something with them or not. So can you train your pets as well? I can't find an option or character that will do it.

Thanks in advance.

Heh a Hunter - are you NE too Rev? WoW needs more NE hunters!

Jokes aside, you need to learn skills (Bite, Claw etc) to teach your pet. You get these by taming random things while your bear is in the stable and then watching the temp pet use them.

Once you nkow how the skill works, you can teach your pet it through the Pet Training thingy.

How are you enjoying it Rev?

I've gotten four characters up to level 12/13, though for some reason at that exact point the game gets a little boring (hence starting the new charactes). I dunno, just thinking about the countless hours i'd have to spend grinding though mobs just so that i can turn into a cat makes me cry.

I havent really participated in any group quests or anything so maybe i'm missing out in that aspect. Would anyone reccomend me to do something to make it more fun?

I reckon the game is awesome fun. Only started playing one week ago so I picked the hunter class because it's pretty easy compared to most others. Been running around Auberdine for the last couple of nights building up my cash and level. I'm sitting on level 17 at the moment and still gotta go thru another half to hit the 18 mark.

Some things that can get annoying is the directions given on some quests. Can be very vague and you walk around for ages trying to find stuff. I haven't played a game this much all year and I was gradually getting away from gaming but this has bought me back. Back I tells ya!

i was same as u smashingpumpkin. highest lvl i got was 20 something. i just kept creating news toons cause it got boring.

rev when u log out, do it at and inn or city. ur xp bar will fill while u are logged out and when u log back in the bar will be blue. that means u will get double xp until all of the blue bar is gone. but u pribably already know that. also become a skinner and leatherworker or soemthing. can kill and skin and lvl leatherworking as u go up the lvls.

in the elf city in one of the tradeskill areas there should be a merchant that sells it. i think u can ask guards for directions for where it is.

The hunter class gets a pet because like, hunters have pets in real life ok... sheesh.

Hunters are the only class that can tame random beasts from the wild.

Though, warlocks can summon or enslave demons for their own various uses.

smashingpumpkin: Once you start instance runs (The deadmines is like lvl 25 or something) things get a whole lot more fun. WoW is a community game, so pick your parties wisely and add people you enjoyed working with to your friends list!

I'm lvl34 Priest on Twisting Nether. Anyone play on that server?

Elemental Shammies are fun for PvP, that's about it. You aren't really as useful in instances or whatever but it's mega-fun for AV and AB.

Red quests means its to high for you to do so you should wait a few lvls to do them.

Yeah, you should pick one of your characters smashingpumpkin and play it a bit more, at least till you get to level 20ish and can start doing instances (the Deadmines in Westfall is the first one for alliance, or Ragefire Chasm for Horde which you can do at 16 or 17 from memory), maybe even try out a BG, that'll give you pretty much the full picture of what WoW is all about (except of course for raiding).

If you're not enjoying yourself at that stage, then the game prolly isn't your cup of tea.

LoL after i posted i actually joined a guild. They promptly took me to the RageFire instance and we stayed there for three hours where i leveled up to 15. Its so much more fun when your with a group. I'll definitely go for the lvl 20 cap which i have and make the decision then!

Make a rogue, deck toon out in blues. Enter WSG 10-19 or 20-29. Camp flag and wait for the good times to roll in.

Some sites you my find useful Rev.
www.thottbot.com and www.ctmod.net
thottbot will help u find whatever you're looking for (items, weapons, NPCs,quest). No more wasting time with vauge quest. And CTMOD just has some neat yet basic features you may like.

Lil macro you might wanna use.
/cast Hunter's Mark (rank #)
/script PetAttack()

I think that was it.
# should be replaced by the level of your hunter's mark skill. i.e 1,2,3.

Yeah, CTMOD rocks, has lots of really useful stuff in it without the clutter of some of the other UI mods. Some of the screenshots I've seen from people using other UI mods are just so clutered it makes me cringe; buttons and icons and stats and bars and god knows what all over the screen. Clean and simple ftw.

ahhh time sink indeed, i have /played 40days now on my mage, got a bit to show for it i guess, our guild is on nefarion, f***ers dont turn up... 3/8 netherwind, 6/8 arcanist and other assorted purples, toep and zhc!. Usually is very boring if we are not raiding, mostly the game is just a rep/raid grind after 60. Hopefully AQ will be fun.

I didn't mean simple as in not many features, I meant its a nice clean implementation, doesn't clutter up the screen with lots of extra garbage.

I use the cosmos, ctraidassist, auctioneer pack and metamap. Cosmos/informix like packs can be complicated or simple, depending on how much effort you put into configuring them.

If you're after some simplicity interfaces, the best I've found which require almost no config on your part is http://www.toctastic.net/content/view/17/42/

There is no real endgame though, you kill bosses like Ragnaros and Onyxia in instances and that's pretty much it.

Try it before you criticize it Mr "I heard it sucks so i wont try it". You dont need to play 24/7.In the beginning i played hard core but now i play casually and still have a great time and hook up with some great players.Admittedly there are some dicks, but what game doesnt have them? To me ravn0s it sounds like you either played on a bad server or you just suck at it and decide to blame others for your inadequacy.

I reckon you could easily get to level 60 in a month. I'm at 18 now going on 9 days so according to my calculations it would be possible. Unless it takes forever in the higher ranks to level.

I don't see why not. It even says the first month is free when you buy the game.

It does take longer in the higher levels, but you can still get to 60 as a casual player without having to play ridiculous amounts.

Oh yeah, I use Auctioneer, Gatherer and Atlas as well, all rather handy :)

Yurp. Don't be surprised if it takes 15-20 days /played to hit 60 if you take your time, quest rather than grind in the mid levels, etc.

Typing /played shows the actual hours logged into that toon

the only real problem with end game pvp is that the end game pve items are prolific enough that they unbalance 60 play.

If you play a warrior it's all good though.

Shamies are over powered, nerf shamans. *bandwagon*

Levelling isn't so bad, I've got a level 28 ne hunter and it pretty much took two rl days (a weekend) and it grows a little each level range. I've seen 1-60 done in 6 days legitimate /played, and almost 5 with hax.

Shammies aren't overpowered - the other classes are just underpowered.

Just buff the rest of the classes but don't nerf shammies. :P

35 on a rogue with just over 3days played :/ and ive done a lot of the mucky around run everywhere quests

6 days played on some of the better grinding classes would be easy, especially if its an alt and gets plenty of rest time

6-9 days played without much rest time at all tho, is a completely different matter - most first chars take about 10-15 days played, even alts where you spend a lot of time exploring the different areas will take more time

but hey, its not a race to 60 ^_^ its a game meant to be played to have fun, you do that for 60 levels, get a few good stories along the way, then start again when you hit 60 and endgame raiding/pvp ^_^ cept those stories are made up by the other players around you, rather than NPCs , and all the people that complain about it, had s***ty raid groups, because the game definitely gets better @ lvl 60 with a good guild/party/raid :)
