surely thats illegal in some way... hehe.

I think its hilarious, and parts of it are probably true, but come on... people have been sued for much less before.

I can't see that stuff being illegal. Looks like a satire to me.

Pretty amusing. Great effort by AMD and Sun poking fun at Intel and Dell.

I sell computers, and I don't think anyone would see the effects of Intel's brilliant P2P marketing more than me.

Probably about 90% of people have never heard of AMD. Generally, about 30% of those people will be fine with an AMD cpu.

Of the other 10% who have heard of AMD, about 90% will have heard that "those CPU's overheat / run hot) thanks to the original Athlon XP's. I try to do my bit to educate them, (ie. Modern Intel CPU's create more heat than AMD cpu's) but people tend to brush off that kind of advice, because it sounds like I'm just trying to sell them something crap.

Its pretty sad, and the funny thing is, Intel do have to pay for that kind of marketing, it happens by its self.

meh both have there advantages and disadvantages, i have an intel because when i bought it athlons overheated like a mother f***er and 2 of them had died on me. intel has never given me a problem, in the future ill probably buy what ever gives me more gigs for bucks but im more likely to boycott amd because i dont like the way they lable cpu speeds with there whole 1800 = 2.1gigz or what ever it is.

haha

greyden/amy... thats such a newb post.

AMD use "Performance Ratings" because 1ghz in AMD gives a completely different level of performance to 1ghz in intel.

PPW (Performance per Watt) is the new black, and both companies have made a point of saying that that is what they will be focusing on in the future.

Here is a GREAT article explaining why 1mhz in AMD is different to 1mhz in Intel.

Keep in mind, that mhz/ghz are not performace measurments, they're frequencies... They measure cycles per second, and if one cpu completes more work in each cycle, then obviously they are not going to deliver the same performance levels at the same frequency.
