Hi,

My work computer has a sound card that isn't working and needs drivers. I've tried a couple that haven't worked and I can't seem to use the Dell website. When I put in the Dell number the page doesn't load.

The soundcard is whatever comes with the Dell Dimension 8250. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you still can't find any that work, pull out the card and have a look at the chip thats on there. Should be a serial number/code printed on it, or perhaps a model number somewhere on the PCB.

Try googling those codes to find some suitable drivers for the card. That has worked for me in the past a few times.

They have a database with lots n lots of drivers. Search for you card on that.

Have a look Here looks like theres a choice of sblive / santa cruse / ADI 198X sound cards...

Edit: Santa Cruz Drivers,ADI Drivers and creative you need the orginal driver disk, i am sure XP support pack 2 has driver support for sblive..

Thanks guys - looks like I'll have to pull the PC apart and have a look at the card. Had no luck so far.
