I believe i am going on that boat 'The Island' with my girlfriend and her friends.

$100 to get on, free beer and wine, $1 spirits (which is bulls*** for paying $100 to board the damn boat.

lol - free huh? :)

Sounds like it will be a good night though.

Also Merlyn - fireworks at Southbank are always good. I can recommend :). Hope you and your wife have an awesome time whilst here :).

Last year I went out for "a few quiet ones" on Dec 30th. haha

Ended up getting completely wasted and spent New Years Eve on my parents couch hungover and anxious and fell asleep in front of the tv at 10pm :)

The night before was better than any news years I've had though, so, WIN.

^ lol, what a way to begin the New Year.

Yeah, I'll probably go over to Southbank and see the fireworks and then follow that on with clubbing/pubbing or something with some friends. I haven't got anything sorted out yet which kind of frustrates me. Meh.

if i ever find myself at home or 'having a quiet one' on NYE, i will kill myself for being sucha loser (spook and rev not included cos they rox and partied-on before i was even born).

NYE is the best time of the year, and every year I try to do something f***ing awesome. the trick is to plan it well in advance, dont just let it roll around or you will miss out and end up being a common pleb at southbank at the very most.

best place in the world for NYE06 will be bondi beach with fatboy slim. it is going to go off so f***ing hard its incomprehensible. i say best in the world because he is planning some super-special s*** for us, and also i spent NYE04 in USA and it was the middle of winter. sux2bnorthernhemisphere.

so needless to say, i organised my gf and my crew and got us all tickets to the fatboy event. tickets sold out within 10 mins btw, i had to be on the ball.

got flights down there cheap as f*** ($100 virginblue), cos i booked so far in advance. got hotels and everything else catered for. too easy campese.

going down sydney on Dec 27th, staying till Jan 6th. back just in time for summerfielddayze down the gold coast.

i guess you could say: PAR-TAY

Yeah, I hear you Strex. Staying at home is lame, but by the time I get outta work it'll suck trying to get somewhere. By the first NYE I've spent at home in over 10 years.

Anything that doesn't involve fireworks.

I have lived in Highgate Hill all my life. Expo 88 with fireworks at 6pm and 9pm each night, followed by the 'OMG Southbank' and it's ritual fireworks on any occasion you kinda get sick of them after 17 years.

Plus since I can't drink I doubt I will be doing anything exciting. Maybe do what we did last year. Stinky cheeses, meats, crackers, and savouries... hmmm yum

NYE has a historical record of screwing up royally for me so I tend to set low expectations. Still there seems to be disturbingly little to do this year.

Well, unlike you I was deprived of fireworks for most of my childhood and subjected to "parties" (if that's what you'd like to call them) with really bad music with family and neighbours.

SO...now that I am old enough to do whatever the hell I want, I'm making the most of it. And fireworks at Southbank once a year every year it is for me!! :). Love it!!! Plus of course, clubbing/pubbing. Unless of course someone organises something at the last minute that is better.
