Anyone with good/bad experiences with Laptop RAM brands/vendors? By default I just go to Umart for things like this and I notice the only RAM they're offering for my laptop (Dell Inspiron 9100) is:

Notebook Geil 512MB PC3200/Dragon 400 Memory PreorderETA $189.00

For some reason Dell is still insanely overinflating the price of their RAM (~ $800 for 2x512 sitcks) so they're out.

Disclaimer: This has nothing to do with trying to play World Of Zergcraft in TM/SS.

I'd be interested to find out too; I went to upgrade my RAM in my laptop but found out Compaq had, like cocks, put in 2x256mb sticks in my two slots instead of 1x512.

KingMax was a pretty good brand, that we use for the IBM latops that we get in at my work place, but anything related to laptops is always expensive.

I know that Apple use Hynix brand RAM, and put a huge markup on it. Hynix itself is fairly cheap AFAIK, when it's not branded by companies.

Call BS on Dell if you want. Sorry, it's $739.20 not $800 currently for 2x512 sticks for a 9100 (DDR400 I assume is the difference). It's still something like 370 a stick which is almost twice what Umart are charging. Horribly overinflated? I'd say so.

Well, we sell Legend 256mb 333mhz sticks for $99, and when we can get them 400mhz is $109. 512 sticks I believe are $209 for 400mhz. Hynix chips I believe, never had any problems with it.
