My PC has been resetting with no reason sometimes.

Lets see it's an Athlon XP 1800+ underclocked to 1.1GHZ

Asus A7S333 motherboard, 512MB generic Ram, ATi Radeon 9600SE

-12V isn't used for much, if anything, on stuff i've seen but it could be resetting purely because it sees it out of tolerance. Mebbe indicative of something else wrong though. I find -12V readings are always really inaccurate on mobos too.

yeah thats fine they should have -12 and -5

they do that so they can have different voltages like -12 and 5 is 17 volts and -12 and 12 is 24volt if you pc is resetting randomly i would unplug the reset button becase it could be faulty its happend to me before.

-12V isn't important, and is not used in ATX-spec.

Many modern PSU's will read strange voltages on the -12 and -5V rails.

I think my PSU (450w codegen)is about to crap itself as well. My 3.3v is getting as low as 2.9v or 2.8v

Weird thing is, I switch off, jiggle teh cables and it seems to be fine for a while

Dodgy....

Have you only just recently got this computer? put it together yourself?

If so, it sounds like you have a screw underneath the motherboard below the CPU screwed into the case thats shorting out the CPU. I've seen it have before and what you described reminded me of it. It may not be the problem but it might be worth checking just incase.

I've run into similar issues ages (years) ago. Just used the lil washers that ship with mobos these days front an back of mobo an have never had that prob since.

Out of curiousity, do you have any power cable extensions in your system? (ie addon power cables that attach to the original power supply cables for either length or, additionally, extra components?).
