While I think Coke is the most overrated carbonated beverage in the history of our modern world, I can't help but every so often, hanker for it served in a glass with a moderate helping of ice. Unknown to many, is the fact that Christopher Reeves won't stand for the drink to be dished up, or should I say 'glassed up' with an abundance of ice, and I must say, I do share a similar point of view, although that being said, it must also be stated that he doesn't stand for very much (!). I myself, being a Dr Pepper man, preferring Cherry Coke to classic, am dismayed at the fact they are discontinuing the derivative due to its public censure, nevertheless, the aforementioned recipe will forever be the timeless device that it is, and shall continues to be respected and valued throughout the eons of time.

I, myself, despise Coca-Cola in every form. However, Occassionally I'm drawn in and drink the elixir of life once more, usually when surprised with "What'll you drink?".

I prefer Pepsi, but also tire easily. However, the best cola or cola related drink I have ever sampled is

Pepsi Blue

and I am aware that no-one else on the planet seemed to enjoy it at all. I weep on an almost daily basis for the return of my beloved, and a tear is quietly escapes my eyes when I think back to the day when it flowed forth like the waters of the Nile.

i absolutely LOVE the taste of classic coca-cola. its the only softdrink i enjoy, and all the other colas out there (eg pepsi) taste like crap (wayyyy to sweet)

coke (when fully carbonated) does not taste so candy-like and i find it EXTREMELY refreshing!

An ice cold black douglas and cola refreshes more than anyother regular refreshment beverage that is considered to be refreshing in a thirst quenching refreshment sort of catagory, nothing else competes quite as well for me when faced with others.... compared to this incomprehensable refreshing refreshmant, i dont know how they mix their cola with their scotch...but its extreeeemly refreshing and tastes like hardcore in a can

I dont know how people can drink that s*** on its own, its not like its a pleasant tasting refreshing refreshment, without an addition of cola or an equally refreshing cola subsitute i dont consider it refreshing on its own :(
But if the weather is right, i can enjoy vodka on its own...once i burnt off all my taste buds after drinking it without a refresher and my tongue was bald for a week, then my taste buds started to grow back in patches a few days after

its ok to drink Black Douglas with a mixer, soda or dry would suffice, as its not exactly a 'nice' scotch.

However, anyone that drinks a single malt or even a 12yr old scotch not neat or with ice is gay.

You can never be forced to drink rum for rum is the necter of the gods. and i agree about the scotch but does it count if you drink straight from the bottle. Cherry coke rules and i was shocked when i got told that work was not going to stock it anymore. am trying to beg them that instead of sending back to coke to give it to me.

Only if its fozen. But cheap arse scotch like Black Douglas goes better with a mixer, if ya did it to the Chivas Regal or Dimple I'd have to smack you one.

Rum and coke, whilst nice is bad for both your sugar levels AND your bowels the next day. I used to drink it a lot and I gave it away for beer after getting sick of the AGBs. Man rum and coke gives you the WORST AGBs ever. Beer isn't too bad for it tho.

I just tried some of that lime and coke and personally all these soft drinks taste the same to me, sweet. I go through phases of craving soft drinks and loathing them.

it was like a ribena type flavoured softdrink but a thousand times better.

ribena is a terrible description of its flavour, but its the best I could do - at least its the right colour!

Vat 69 may be cheaper than black douglas, same with Tom Piper - but they both taste better.

Pepsi Blue tasted nothing like any of the powerades. All the powerades taste like when you don't wash out a cordial bottle enough and fill it with water.

Pepsi Blue still had a cola taste, but the blue... well, I was in love.

Thats because they are supposed to be isotonic, believe it or not the s*** they say in the ads is actually true.
