Well, if this is true it will certainly shake things up in the mp3 player world... A guy from MSN has been quoted as saying "The Microsoft-branded devices will "look and feel" as good as the iPod for as little as $50"
They are launching an online music service soon, and the mp3 players are the obvious next step... story here and here (scroll down) |

I'd get one, coz that's about as much as I'd spend on an mp3 player.

"look and feel" as good as the iPodSounds like MS are using some of that famous 'innovation' again. They say it will be cheaper but don't mention whether it will match the capacity of Apples iPods. If it does I'd expect that MS are expecting to make money the same way they profit from the xbox and that is through the games (in this case music). I then wouldn't be surprised if you can only use MS online music service with it or that it will at least be very difficult to use another service. Also this is microsoft so expect a big emphasis on WMA and licenses. |

That gimp who wrote the first article sure loves Apple's ass.
I couldn't give a rats who makes it, if it's cheap and does the job i'm sold. |

Correct me if im wrong...
I was watching the news last night and saw that Sony has a new MD player out and the discs are holding 10gb! But they were saying it is only compatible with other Sony hardware to stop msuic being downloaded or something... |
