Can anyone help me on this little prob. My mum tried connecting to her server yesterday, and a message came up "an error occured while reconnecting G to \\novusaust\Branch Microsoft Windows Network 2242: The password of this user has expired this connection has not been restore". All the work that is needed during the day is stored on this G drive which is the server, and there are 6 computers connected to it and no one can connect Does anyone have any idea what it may be????

Maybe their passwords have expired? Or maybe you now require a password to access it? Are you sure the drive is still there? and working properly?

The error message sounds pretty self-explanatory to me: "The password of this user has expired this connection has not been restored"

Go to the server and either set the password of the account in question not to expire, or set a new password on it.

net doen't need a password if you are using NAT.

Go to the server, assumeing it is 2000 or XP do the followign:

Right click my computer
click manager
click users and groups
click users
find the user they use to log onto the server with
fx the password expiry and password

Or maybe the guest account has expired or some such?

thank you very much, problem was solved, password was set to expire, but also there were user and admin group missing from the server, that was also fixed :)
