Are speakers allowed?? or do i have to use my headphones all the time?

People who use Speakers just annoy others. Put simply it pisses a lot of people off having to listen to other people's music/sounds. Think of others and use your headphones unless you are showing people things (ie. movies and s***)

i've only been to one qgl lan, and someone had speakers, and i wanted to do very nasty things to them.

omg but i cant stand not having speaks and earphones are so anti social at lans...not that ive been to a 500 person lan before...and i suppose if everyone brought speakers...itd be BAD

fireblood, i think it's discouraged because of that fact (if everyone brought them, ouch).

but not only that, sometimes people play music that other people don't like and sometimes they play it loud, and it isn't appreciated by everyone else.

if people have earphones like i usually do (surround the ear ones) then it doesn't affect them much, but think of the people who wear earphones that the noise can get through?

in the end, i think it's your choice (i'm pretty sure you're allowed to) but keep the volume to the minimal, and don't be surprised *if* someone makes snide comments or something.

I dont see anything wrong with having 5/6 people sitting around one computer watching a movie or something as long as the sound is low. However, people who play games and music on speakers s*** me. Especially last QGL some f***** had rap playing all QGL (ALL f***ING QGL). It gets f***ing annoying (especially if you dont like the style of music they are playing)

Last QGL we had to put up with two days of

omg!! i wouldnt use em to play stupid sounds....or music...just for games...and at a reasonable volume...the few have reuined it for the rest of us :( but its cool i got some earphones for my walkman...that are better than my s***ty ones :D

I didnt understand it 2 years ago, and I dont understand it now.
One boring mod on an allready then dated game engine singlehandedly spoiled public lans for me and still, after two years, doesnt show any sign of letting up. *shrug*

Wasent me i was at the opososite end and i didnt have speakers :P

yeah i heard them play some things. but it wasnt too loud and they didnt play anymusic. but i heard a few sounds comming out of them . nothing more then a couple of seconds tho so it wasnt anoying. maybe they just bought them to show that they had uber speakers or something
