We've kind of harped on a bit about this one, but trust us when we say it'll be one of the sleeper hits of the year. Ubisoft's Immortals Fenyx Rising (formally Gods and Monsters), is the Breath of the Wild sequel you're looking for before, you know, that actual sequel happens. But we need to point out, carefully (for now), that while spiritual in design flattery, Immortals is very much its own Cyclops. The game-world is built around a comedic lean on Ancient Greek mythology and is both colourful and fun. Hence today's animated trailer being so 'on-point' as far as IP branding goes. We'd be remiss to at least not suggest to you, however, that while tonally close to the last Zelda experience, immortals have serious adult overtones, but they're appropriately subtle, making it a bit of a game for everyone? (That question mark is deliberate.) Immortals Fenyx Rising will be available on December 3rd 2020 on Stadia, PlayStation®4, the Xbox One family of devices (including the Xbox One X), Nintendo Switch™ system, Epic Games and Ubisoft Connect. The game will also be available on PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S and on Ubisoft+, Ubisoft’s subscription service*.Anyway, enough from us ahead of our official review.
