Out of nowhere like a summoned cloud, Black Myth: Wukong has surprised the gaming world as an action-adventure title featuring the legendary Monkey King in an adaptation of the classic "Journey to the West" tale popularised initially by Monkey Magic while also being the inspiration for countless stories across myriad media over the years. If this pans out to be as good as it looks, then wow. Developed by Chinese-based Game Science Studio (reportedly made up of ex-Tencent cats), the game follows the exploits of the trickster Monkey who tried to fool Buddha on more than one occassion with a fighting system that looks, well, cool. Not a lot of English info is available, so stop listening to me and watch IGN's share of the video embedded below. |
